A grieving Afghan mother took bloody revenge on the Taliban militants who gunned down her son, killing 25 and injuring five of them during a seven hour gun battle.
Reza Gul watched helplessly as her son died while he manned a village checkpoint with his small team of police officers in the lawless Farah province.
But flanked by her daughter and daughter-in-law, she led a counter strike on his attackers killing 25 militants and wounding another five during a ferocious seven hour gun battle.

Tbh they had weapons and the element of surprise. I'm more surprised by the fact that they can shoot a gun properly. Afghan women ain't nothing to fck with.

Plus, the anger and pain of seeing her son dying in front of her might have been a driving force & 'do or die' moment for her as well, I think.

Is it possible to translate my joy right now into this post? No, I don't think so.
Yes, there was the element of surprise, but they are still alive. That's what's most surprising right now.

I hope they'll move her and her family into a safe location or those cockroaches will definitely try to kill them as soon as they can.

Though it is a good read, a family of three women planning and executing a sweet revenge against those who killed their son, brother and husband, the numbers of the dead and those injured by only three women are too high because if it was this easy, the Kabul government would have defeated these experienced Taliban fighters by now. This story coming from The Daily Fail, take it with a grain of salt.

Though other sites reported it as well, (NBCNEWS & Huffingtonpost) you're right there.
Here are the links of the two other sites (NBCnews suggests there were other boys fighting alongside them, and Huffingtpost says there's only one source of the story from Afghanistan so far):

Gartay, it will be a more believable story if there other members of their clan were involved, as the Afghans are a very proud and brave bunch like us when it comes to avenging for your kin, but three women, one an elderly have killed and injured that amount of Taliban soldiers by using only A.K47's is a stretch of my imagination. Thanks for the other links.

It's actually well established fact that Pakistan protects the Taliban, so they are primarily based in Pakistan now.
