Ceebta Soomaalida

Post by LiquidHYDROGEN »

I don't think I'm alone in being completely sick of the constant negative news associated with Somalis, both back home and in qurbaha. I chalk it down to two things; the failure and complete inability for most somali refugees/asylum seekers to get to grips with life in the west whether due to cultural, religious or psychological clashes and secondly, the constant media bias, sensationalism and misrepresentation of somalis.

The first problem spawns from the complete and utter breakdown of somali society back home and lawlessness across much of the peninsula. Even the most stable regions like SL and PL lack basic insitutions and amenities. This has led to a generation of somalis who have grown up in a country where dog-eat-dog is the law and manners, decency, dignity, sophistication and imaan are a thing of the past. A nation where begging is the national past-time to the point where the so called "governments" live on foreign hand-outs. All we can do is pray to Allah and ask that this shame and humiliation ends soon. We can also do our bit to help our people and not take advantage of them - which unfortunately many educated diaspora who go back home do.

As for the second problem. Somalis really need to set-up media watch-dogs, PR companies and libel law firms. Unfortunately, we lack the initiative and the expertise for this because Somalis are one of the least educated/successful immigrant group. But even one company is something.

TL:DR - We shouldn't be depressed with the current predicament of the Somali people. We should have sabir and do our bit individually to ensure a successful and positive image of Somalis, both inside and outside of Somalia.

If we cannot even control this forum, how do you expect us to control powerful media orgs like the dailymail who humor themselves by constantly bashing Somalis, the shame of being associated with Africans was only bearable because one could say we are different, but what can you say when a Somali is paraded around in the media is a lowly begger, a criminal etc. It is beyond embarrassing, something must be done about it, starting with this forum.

People/media will still find faults in Somalis even when they're successful. Forget what people say and think about Somalis and do you. Get educated, get your degrees/certifications, and do your part in improving the condition of the community.

You've just shown yourself to have serious reading comprehension problems. I also take offense at being labelled a "self-hater" by someone who continually insults somali women and has on numerous occasions lamented being born a Somali.

Why do I attract these imbeciles, horta?

That's the issue. We can't even organize a public forum let alone a pr company. We seem to specialize in chaos.

For all those with dyslexia and who can't recognize the difference between self-hate and self-reflection. Gtfo my thread.

Oh God not this guy again. A deer Soomaalida maxaa kaa galay. Focus on your life and those of your close ones and let others deal with theirs. Why burden yourself. This constant anger may lead you to self destruct. May I suggest you get close to your Diin and perhaps that may lighten things up for you.

First of all I am sick and tired of your constant whining about Somalis. If you were bullied by Somalis then get over it.
Secondly, this is a SOMALI website, if you don't like Somalis then I suggest you should stop coming here, you don't contribute anything useful. You're an irrelevant member. The only time I notice your presence in here is when you post your basic ass topics about Somalis. You're self hating is getting tiring. I don't know whether to laugh at you or pity you.
