Can someone please educate me on this topic? I'm very interested. are they like a branch of islam?

There's only one islam, unlike Catholicism islam is a way of life. Unlike Catholicism we muslim haven't got a figure head like the pope who can change the scriptures as they please. Islam is the word of the most gracious, the most merciful & we as slaves must hear & obey, innovation is from satan the accursed. There's only islam & it's not extreme like that characters picture above nor is it moderate like some people who try to water down the word of the most high, it's in between the two.
