Political leadership should be given to langaabs.
Somalis are a complexed people. We are of the same ethnicity, speak the same language, have the same religion and culture but we are divided like we have nothing in common. And the guilty ones are the BIG THREE. Darood, Issaq and Hawiye. These three have caused so much problems for themselves and others. Now don't get me wrong, Dir, DM etc are not innocent, they too are involved in the mess Somalis find themselves. But let's be honest they are only involved in wrongdoing due to following commands by the BIG THREE to save themselves. Now let us examine what the BIG THREE want and hope to gain:
Darood: Federalism. It's a no brainer. It's fact that they have the largest land, in Somalia and outside. Puntland itself (even if it is a desert) is 1/3 of Somalia. Now add Jubbaland (88,000 sq km), 1/2 of Sanaag, 2/3 of Sool and Ayn (if Khaatumo forms) to the mix, then you have THREE Darood federal states that would account for 2/3 of Somalia landmass. I'll leave you to work out what the positives and advantages of this is for Darood.
Hawiye: Centralism. The whole purpose of the 91 war, from Hawiye view, was to completely end Darood political leadership and power in Somalia. They succeeded in ending the Darood government and instead of then taking control of those institutions and using it to their advantage, they proceeded to fight amongst themselves to this day. Fortunately for them Mogadishu was and still is the capital. If Somalia was under Centralism has they wish it to be; Hawiye will still be the political leaders, international aid will be directed to them, foreign investment in Somalia will only be in their lands, keep hold of stolen properties all over the country and Aideed and co. dream of Hawiye led Somalia can be.
Issaq: Separatism. Split Somalia in two. Now yes indeed "Somaliland" and Somalia were ruled as separate entities by the British and Italians respectively, yes "Somaliland" got it's independece first (for 5 days c'mon) but it then opted to join Konfoor when they got independece. And then theres the issue of the MSB regime. Yes indeed, what the regime did in Hargiesa was terrible and should be condemned, but it should not be used as a tool for a dream of independence. Also Issaq was not the only clan to feel the wrath of the regime. We all know what happened to Mjs when they tried to overthrow MSB. But the people of Puntland don't call for independence, a lot of MJs have respect for the guy (myself included), they don't cry about that Issaq guy who was put in charge of the punishment that came upon them. Hell i don't even know his name. But we then have MJ Morgan Nicknamed "Butcher of Hargeisa"? the positives of a Somaliland for Issaq: There own country, a country where they are the majority instead of minority, no Darood ruling over them but them ruling over Darood.
It is with these reasons that Somalia finds it so hard to wake up. So ironic considering it's national anthem. So that's why i propose we give all the political and military power to minority tribes. I nominate Dir. All the BIG THREE have some connection with this clan. And history proves that langaabs, once in power turn that nation into something great. Alexander The Great (Macedonian), Umar Ibn Khattab RA (from small Banu Adiy), Napoleon Bonaparte (Corsican), Hitler (Austrian) and Stalin (Georgian).

There was no legal union and Somalia can't claim SL because it doesn't represent the Somali republic.
Darood are minority in Sanaag and they're powerless.
The war of independence started in 1961, in other words, the dream of recreating SL republic precedes Afweyne and SNM.
Isaaq didn't fight Afweyne in order to replace him and take his seat like the dhabacyo, we fought the big lipped beast in order to end the injustice and corruption.
If it was up to me, I would start with the faqash who are Isaaq and I would slit their throats one by one and then I would end with Morgan.

Good analysis here is my opinion. First we Isaaqs are the first Somalis who democratically elected A minority man over their Mujaahid. And I am Sure it will happen again and again and again. The benefits of Electing minority man is not something we are exploring today but we already discovered. Rayaale was habraha odaygooda triblism was its lowest point during his term, and somaliland was stronger in terms of unity although we were in economic Resssion.
Its up to the walaweyns if they can learn f from our experience or not, but I am telling you we will never join somalia because its not our economy and security interest. As a separitist I dont see the beauty of Somali unity from your own eyes, I see you are not paying tax to your government, I see you are not contributing any thing to your national army, I see the disgust the and distruction in xamar. I see you taking orders from gabre, I see the kikuyu in kismayo, I see many demontrating for KDF while kenya stealing their Territorial waters. I see amisom and alshabaab. I see the real you I see Somalia !
WHAT DO YOU OFFER, TO GIVE UP MY DREAM ???? !!

I think Somaliland and Somalia should separate. It sad that even though Somalia is the only country in Africa that are completely homogeneous in every aspect...from language, religion, culture, ethnicity, etc...and yet we still can't get a long. I think that's says A LOT about the intelligence of Somalis. God didn't really bless Somalis with brains I guess. Countries like Nigeria or Ethiopia with over 30 ethnic groups, and different religions are thriving.

No such thing as langaab, its a outdated term.
Also its unwise to equate *sub clans (isaaq) to - clans aka darood/hawiye.

Somaliland was the first Somali state to gain independence and the 12th state in Africa that gained independence.
Somalia was the 14th state in Africa.

Call what ever you like, Somaliland is the de facto reality on the ground. This is beyond imagination this is FACT !gobdoon wrote:There is no such thing as Somaliland only on your vivid imaginations may be you could be mixing it with Iidoorland.

Re: Political leadership should be given to langaabs.
lol... Darood are a scarted minority. Dont get fooled by the lands they control. It is all about the numbers what makes you "big"Also its unwise to equate *sub clans (isaaq) to - clans aka darood/hawiye.
The warsangali equal in numbers the tiny Arap clan of the Habar Garxajis
The Dhulbahanti equal a sub clan of the Habar Awal
I don't have clear numbers on the Dhabacyos (the largest of the Harti's) cos they were not included at British census But there is no way they are bigger than let say the Habr Jeclo kkkkkkk when fighting any of the iidor clans (HY,HA,HJ) the whole Harti must be there any thing else, it wont be a fair fight

The Darood are lucky Faisal did not win back in 2010, it would mark the end of the dooros in SL Silanyo got the job done but way too late and way too nice
Did you hear the latest joke? a Dahabacyo living at the dessert calling us a sub clan looooool
