I noticed when people from here go to Somalia they drop 15 pounds in a month initially.

But if they stay there for say, 6-8 months they end up gaining weight.

It happened to my Abti, Adeer and pops.

FAH,

The weight loss is from the violent diarrhea. The brief illness is so bad you dont have the energy to get out of bed for a whole day or two

I am,

Abdi "I want to know what that particular malady is" Johnson

^ My uncle recently came up and he gained weight. They would feed him meat and milk, in the morning liver and kidneys with canjeelo, lunch hilib ari or camel meat, at night suqaar. SMH he looks like a total different human being, he was health conscious when he left the states his excuse was they didn't have any other healthy food. He lowkey pigged out.

It really depends. Though I didn't go back home for almost 14 years now, if people adopt the real back home lifestyle, as in go everywhere within a city on foot, eat the non-sugary, non-fatty fresh food and produce most of the time etc, like every other local, then they'll lose some weight, or stay fit if they were fit in the first place. I assume things might get out of hand if dayuusbaro returnees sit on their asses all day long and frequent those bars/restaurants that cater for the lifestyles of the returnees, plus get to every 5 meter journey on a motor vehicle then they'll put on weight like Xaaji Awees Khamiis Cabdalla Mabuuse in no time.

YES Twist. You lose alot of weight, but it's not only due to sickness. You are eating FAR healthier - imagine going to an organic market every day for your food.

I feel much healthier than I ever did...nails and hair are fab, and my skin is clear.

However, after a while you start gaining weight because of the constant bariis and hilib. So hence my salads/salad shakes.

P.s I just heard a loud ass gunshot. LOL Viva Somalia..... =/

Agreed. I drink my tea light, without sugar and milk. People find that strange. :S If you are going all out bro, the best tea I hear is in Djibouti. It's probably the salt water.

EVERYTHING food/drink wise is better in Djibouti. I believe salt water is the reason also.
