Imagine...

Post by Rambie »

If every lander in the diaspora donate just 20$ each month for the funding of the road construction projects. I mean we could achieve a lot linking reer Bari to Galbeed. Basic infrastructure is vital for drawing investments and to catch the attention of the "greedy diaspora". I know this old man who have a family of 10 members but donates 100$-150$ each month (for a road connecting his remote town). Yet I know a fealthy rich diaspora family (from a neighboring town) refuse to pay a penny unless "there is profit or return" :snoop:

Keep in mind, its a running Sadaka, rewarding after death.

Why don't they levy a Dollar road tax on all khaat sales....They'll have enough for a superhighway in six months. :)

Wealthy people are greedy and shallow. Most of them got rich by taking advantage of others, they don't care bout no one except themselves and deep down they're not happy.

Taxes, taxes taxes. Many large companies do not pay enough taxes (DS) and they only go after small businesses. You got a point though, khaat trade is a huge business. I now a friend who bought a pick up and and ship it to SL. Now after 2 years, he married, built a house worth 25k and still have a deep packet. But if it was up to me, I wouldn't tax Khaat, I would ban it. How come we spend our hard currency and limited equity on a mild drug? If ppl have more money in hand, less time sleeping during the day than its a major economic boost in it's self.
