Should May-maay be compulsory in Schools in Somalia proper?

Post by JamalAddow »

Or should I say Italian Somaliland, I don't think Landers would accept it. There are already Rahanweyne mps in Puntland so they're accepting.

First the May-maay language would need to be written presumably with the purest (keeps the most Cushiticness) dialect, I'm guessing May-Maay has dialects like the Somali language.

It'd need to be written with a different script so as not to mistake it with the Somali language, the Arabic script would be best as Somalis know how ro read that already.

That's a good point.If I was "Mayan"
I would expect it to be so,I'd also want it to be declared as an official language

Absolutely.

Get rid of that foreign Arabic official language nonsense that no one even speaks or can read but booty claps for and replace it with af May Maay

Forget about May-Maay, given the current dire state of affairs in Somalia, soon the Somali language itself may be things of the past and we may be forced to adopt Amharic and Swahili as the two official languages of the land.

Just make it illegal to teach higher education in Af-Maay and it will eventually die out. That's how most European countries killed off their divergent dialects.

In Germany there's no higher education in Plattdeutsch and other strange dialects, just High German (Hochdeutsch). Subsequently, the whole country now just uses mainly High German and no good books are written in the dialects.

Italy and the UK did something similar.
