Buddhism is really just a nice way to live, it's not a proper religion.

That is coming from an ignorant western position. Just the same way they disconnected Sufism from Islam. They say stuff like Sufism is just about loving everybody, nature, and the universe, you don't have to be muslim to be a sufi.
