Turkish tv series has changed the opinion on Turks/Muslims

Post by lasanodboi »

I was watching this very interesting Program on Al Jazeera Turkish Series like Noora has not only hit the Arab world with huge success ( The last episode had 85 million Arab viewers ) but more interestingly Russia, Serbia, Romania, Israel, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, countries where the population historically had negative views on Turks/Muslims after 500 years of Turkish colonial oppression...... in Macedonia the Turkish series have been banned after 10 hour per day programs was broadcasted
In Central Europe the Turkish series are the most popular

opinion polls after the series shows majority positive opinion on Muslims/ Turks in those Christian countries

The Viewers explains how they can relate to the problems and difficulties by the Modern Turkish Middle class characters who face ,Love problems, financial problems

While the Arabs viewers loves Muslims living in Modern Secular life's yet with a degree of Islamic values like a strong family

Muslims has finally produced their own shows and stopped someone else to define them

Amela Bicic, a student of journalism from Belgrade, says that almost the whole of her family in Belgrade, as well as those scattered across the world, in the US and Canada, enjoy watching Turkish shows.
Indian shows are awful. The acting is terrible. Turkish shows you can watch and cry through all the time. They are much better than the others,” she says.

Israeli TV executive says show became very popular after first few weeks of broadcasts, "it is the most watched series in the country."
The Greeks view the family in any Turkish soap opera as their own. The attitudes, relations and lifestyles of the people in Turkish soap operas are exactly the same as the Greek style.
