Understanding the Reformation
Understanding the Reformation:
Seems like many of you misunderstand what I mean when I use the word, Reformation. Pay attention cuz I’m only gonna do this once:
The essence of Islam is and always will be eternal & timeless. That essence being Tawxeed: Ebbe will always be Al-Waaxid Al-Axad Al-Samad. Nabi Maxamed will always be Khaatim al’anbiyaa wal rusul.
Then there is what is known as “maa huwa macluum minal deen bil daroora”. What is known by necessity in Islam. That also cannot and will not change. Fajr will always be two rakcah, not 4. Fasting will always be observed during the month of Ramadan, not Rajab. NOBODY is talking about ‘reforming’ Fajar so that it becomes 4 rakcah, or observeing fasting in rajab instead of ramadan.
Are we clear so far? Good. Let’s not waste time with strawmen arguments.
What those of you screaming your heads off that: “OUR FAITH NEEDS NO REFORM. ISLAM IS PERFECT” are unfortunately too ignorant to realize is that Islam has been DEFORMED within years of Nabiga’s death and it has been continuously DEFORMED throughout the centuries until this very day.
When Ina Abi Sufyaan violated the quranic ayah that orders our form of governance to be concensus-based and instead setup a tyrannical dynasty……………he DEFORMED Islam, and by their silence and acceptance, so did the companions of Nabiga.
When centuries of various muslim rulers failed to gradually abolish slavery, they DEFORMED Islam.
When 1400 years of 'scholarship' comes to the conclusion that women must have sex with their husbands or angels will curse them, than that is DEFORMING Islam.
When Ina Taymiya, and Ina Wahaab, and Ina Baaz choose to spend years and years expounding and vigorously debating the most insignificant minutia like mas'alat istiwaa calal carsh(Ascension of the throne) or Talaaq(divorce, how many tries does it take to divorce ur wife? 1 or 3? let us debate for 1400 years) while ignoring the most critical challenges and threats facing muslims worldwide, well guess what, they DEFORMED Islam.
So the Reformation is nothing new, it’s not an addition, it’s not an addendum, it is a corrective measure to REFORM the DEFORMATION that occurred, to fix what centuries of laziness and inertia have wrought.
There is no question that for Muslims to rise up from our current position at the bottom of the barrel of humanity, we will have to undergo a grand, paradigm-shattering, dogma-destroying, eye-opening Reformation that overturns centuries of accumulated falsehood and false narratives(al-walaa wal-baraa). Whereas the likes of Martin Luther rose up and challenged the deviancy & tyranny of the Roman Catholic Church, we merely accepted and nodded our heads every time some piece of dung “waliyul-amr” and his flavor of the month State Clergy decided what was “officially approved Islam” and what was not. How many of you here knew that Persia was overwhelmingly Sunni for centuries up untill Shia clerics got in good with the ruling leader, and almost overnight, people were forced to adopt the 12’er “madhab”. Betcha didn't know that, and why?, cuz you don't effin read or think or isticmaal your Ebbe-given caqli and choose to take your religion from "scholars" who hand-feed you what to believe and what not to believe. That’s what you get for obeying the ruler……………..and his appointed culuma(azhar shaykhs, saudi shaykhs).
The days when fat clerics thundered from the top of the minbar threatening us, the shacab, with hellfire & damnation if we do not listen to their waliyul-(kh)amr or follow “state-certified dogma” are long gone. We are living in the Age of Information, where the entirety of Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim are online for anybody with an internet connection to read. And hence the (very few) fabricated hadiths in those two great books are also available for anybody with an internet connection to see. And you don’t have to be a expert in al-jarx wal-tacdeel to know that a hadith that states a runaway slave’s prayer won’t be accepted or that he won’t enter heaven, is a fabricated hadith created by some slaveowning scum who wanted to keep his “property” in check. Age of Information = the end of religious monopoly & bureaucracy.
The only hope we Muslims have in the 21st century is a massive overarching Reformation that completely overhauls centuries of established (nonsensical) dogma.
Nonsense like:
Only Quraysh can be Caliph. (Yeah? thought we were all equal doe. I guess some of us more equal than others)
Slavery is halal (So you wouldn’t mind it if I enslaved your mother or sister? Oh you do mind. Awkward.)
Women need to stay at home and cannot be in public mixing with men because ikhtilaat & khulwa is haramz
All of that reactionary archaic culture-based bullshit above will have to be eradicated completely so that no lunatics will ever threaten to sell schoolgirls at the market in Islam's name.
We will have to rediscover and embrace essential Islamic principles values that have been forgotten:
Consultative consensus-based form of government, also known as electoral democracy, based on the quranic ayah "wa amrahum shuuraa baynahum"
Absolute freedom of religion, speech, belief: Munafiqeen were living in Madiinah, openly announcing their kufr and plotting rebellion, what happened to them? Nothing. Because Freedom, that’s why.
Some of you will be indignant at the mention of a Reformation. You will say, why reform something that is perfect. Yes, Islam is perfect, Muslims’ understanding of it, however, is horribly and horrifically misbegotten and misinterpreted. Hence, the Reformation: the corrective medicine/daawo for our centuries-long descent into shameful & entrenched failure. Economic failure. Societal failure. Political failure. And I don’t just mean Muslims living today, I mean overly-glorified Muslims like Mucaawiya bin Abi Sufyaan who thought that somehow he was entitled to a kingdom because he was a “pureblood”. Sorry homie, it don’t work like that. Something your kinsmen discovered when they were slaughtered en masse by your vengeful cousins, the Abbasids, 7 decades after your death. It could’da been avoided, but nah, you had to go all HAM and start a war that makes Game of Thrones look like child’s play. You and your fellow Ay-Rab rulers have taken the noble message of Islam and subverted it into an instrument of oppression, suppression, and subjugation. Sorry, homie. We’re taking our deen back.
Hence, the Reformation. It is our only hope for survival in the 21st century, a century that portends sweeping technological advances and growth. Which, if you didn’t get the memo, we are missing out on because “nacam, aqii, this is only a temporary dunya, innit; the REAL life is the Hereafter, aqii. So let them have this world, and we will have the next one. The dunya is the prison of the believer, aqii” (Note: im not making fun of those inherent spiritual concepts; I’m making fun of how ignorant fools(especially clerics) have subverted the spiritual message of the Aakhira and turned it into an excuse for our failures: poverty, starvation, illiteracy)
Ugu dambeyn: The Reformation will happen whether you like it or not. If not in our lifetime, then in the lifetime our children and grandchildren. I’d love to see a 85 year old Mailman telling his grandkids that they are bidca-loving murtads for trying to reform Islam.
Mailman to Grandkids: What you speak of is heresy! Heresy, I say. Repent now! We are Muslims! We are BETTER than them! We are SUPERIOR to them! Slavery is a GOOD thing! Free sex on tap! What could be better than that!
Grandkids to Mailman: Awoowe, you have become senile in your old age; easy with the judgmental sanctimony, or else we’ll put you in an multi-cultural, multi-religion nursing home where you will be forced to hear the praise hymns, talmudic chanting, along with Quran recitation.

Re: Understanding the Reformation
What Islamic qualifications do you possess that gives you the authority to comment on the nature of 'Reformation' that Islamic thinking needs. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing!
Get a grip, you are spouting hogwash.

Sorry, there will be 0 reformation or innovation in Islam of today or tomorrow. Those two words indicate something better can be created from what is already perfect: Islam. Go take up a hobby

Even our Somali gaal has rejected reformationciddhartha wrote:Nigga, nobody has time for essays. I didn't read much of what you wrote, but I know your position from your previous posts.
Reformation of Islam is the cowards way out. Either the Quran is the revealed word of Allah or you are not a Muslim. It is the revealed word of Allah because Mohammed (pbuh) said so, to disagree with that is blasphemy. Not in the sense that you should be killed for apostasy, but you would no longer meet the criteria for "Muslimhood." What is the first pillar of Islam? Reject that and where do you stand as a Muslim.
There is no room for interpretation of the simple messages revealed in the Quran. They are meant literally. And Allah, in his infinite wisdom, cannot be corrected.
Just leave the fold as I have and you will no longer feel the need to mold your faith group to your personal ideology.

How islam can be perfect when you have SAXIIX hadiiths like this.chilinbadboy wrote:[

Jarir bin Abdullah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "When the slave runs away from his master, his Salat (prayer) will not be accepted
Islam is not perfect... it needs big big changes.. starting that sahiih hadiith...

there is reason why prophet whole 10 years only preching in : One God, altawheed. prayers come at least 13 years after wa7yi. alcohol was probiden in 3 staged until , was haraam 16 years after wa7y.
my point is; when person, love of God take over their whole existance before haram or halal... before punishment or reward. all they say is ; same3na wa ata3na.... we hear , we obey.
let us work or our nafs before we start war or words and argument sake!
sprituality is very important to understand the wa7y a k a quran.

You make very valid points.
I'm waiting for the likes of MailMan to enter and yell blasphemy.
Muslims of this day have become nothing more than sheeps.
They blindly follow any man with a beard and claims to be a sheikh.
Allah swt didn't give us a brain for it to sit and rot in our heads.
It's meant to be used.
I wish someone would feel offended.

Re: Understanding the Reformation
Why does Islam need reformation?????? God chose Christianity to go through reformation. Not Islam. God is all knowing. God knows the limits of his creations. Obviously Allaah swt loves Islam more than Christianity--that is why he gaves Muslims the characters they have and Christians the characters they have. Every soul in this world has a purpose. Muslims are meant to stay stagnant and cherish or preserve their religion. Christianity is to advance the world, and make it a better place. Its sounds like at the end of the day, we are creation of Allaah swt---every one has a duty to perform. Its not upto you---its upto God. Your actions are pre-ordained whether u like it or not. Simple as that.

Here lies the difference between a "thinkers" (Moi) and "feelers" (you and Leftist). You offer arguments not founded in reason but rather founded in emotions. You don't like that Islam has a bad rap, you don''t like that it isn't completely congruent with your own beliefs.Cherine wrote: Lol@ i have no time for essays,ciddharta..was it even meant for you horta?Lol don''t think you get brownie points from the MODS by saying stuff you don't mean like 'pbuh' &'Allah in his infinite wisdom'. Slavery, Concubinage (including the rape of slaves), Bigamy, Misogyny was all made halal by Allah, that can't ever be erased by men. Unless the very foundation of Islam is abandoned. Think about that.

Re: Understanding the Reformation
Ciidharta ain't no friend of Islam but neither is the OP. There is no discussion on this thread. All you have is Leftist taking it upon himself to do unqualified Ijtihad because some aspects of Islam do not compliment his personal ideology.
What happens if the Mahdi(the real one) starts ruling like a tyrant? He'll get fired.....just like on the Apprentice(I'm being entirely serious). "The Mahdi.....you are.........FIRED. OUT!" viewtopic.php?f=18&t=358904&start=30
Ciddharta is right about one thing, individuals such as Leftist are manipulating the Deen to suit their whims and in my opinion are more dangerous to Islam than apostates because they can deceive the gullible by cherry picking information.
