Hello everyone! This is my first post on here and I wanted to ask you guys a question. I met this white girl at my med school about a year ago and we've been dating ever since. I really do love her and I honestly cannot imagine a single day without her. So I was planing to pop the question. Only problem is that she isnt religious but her parents are catholic. I really do want an ordinary somali wedding, and I think getting maried at a church is haram and very corny. Are any of you married to none somalis or the product of an interacial? any advice is appreciated

honestly op...i don't see anything wrong with it. if both your families are okay with the marriage then go for it! i wish you and your girl the best of luck

i don't think her becoming muslim is an option. her family is hardcore catholic so they are okay with her being atheist but never a muslim. I'm just worried about the actual wedding, how does that work? I am my mothers oldest son and the first to get married, i don't want to disappoint her with a non somali wedding know what i mean? i really do love this girl though, I've dated plenty of somali and non somali women and none of them are anything like this girl. i don't want to risk losing her over trivial things you know.

Get her to revert/convert first, once married youll never know whether she will entertain the idea of actually converting to Islam.
