So...... I have been following this historical, 18th century character, an ancestor of the late princesses Diana through her letters. This woman is a marvel. Her strength is so powerful, it is palpable, jumping out of the books! Why I am interested in her? Well, she has this feel of being too wise, too smart, and too hilarious. Mostly just like my character. The same way you FORUM-ers are obsessed with me, I am obsessed with her.


Here is the funny part, I have read thousand of letters and except quotes of letters she wrote. I have not seen a single letter where --happiness glows from her. It is always a serious tone, if not spewing advice or wise cautionary tales to her relatives, she is gossiping with her aristocrats, but in a serious, judgmental way.


Now, the ONLY time I caught her being remotely 'happy' is when she wrote to her friend telling her that one of her daughters bought a present for her other daughter who just heard a baby! She used a word to describe the gift: Magnificent.



LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL I don't know why-- I am either clinically insane or just too happy in my own world. Reading that positive, glowing, and showy word from her, tells me a lot. It shows me that-- this poor unhappy, serious woman, let her guard down for a spark of a second to show her happiness.


The other time she let her guard down was when she described the son of a friend, who later ends up having an affair with one of her daughter: She described him as "He is very beautiful"! LOOOL This was a man in his early 20s, dark, rich full head hair, flowing down his forehead, matched with red rosey lips, fantastic long nose, and a from a good family birth! L LOOOOOOL

basra, reminds me this alcoholic old lady, she is from well known family. she grew up boarding schools in lebonane and schwizland. no matter what time of the day, she knocks neighbour houses, any one who open for her.... she comes in and talks and talks and talks! i felt so bad for her. she kind her family disowned her.

we moved out that neighbourhood, i wish to know how she ended up.

Me too, I wish to know more about her. I relate to her in 'well known family' part and that's all. Me and alcohol is impossible. I have never sipped any alcohol in my entire life. Nor did I ever smoke cigars or any drugs.

It is interesting though, about this lady, she was probably raised very spoilt , she could also be depressed or a lesbian numming herself with alcohol, anyone who drinks excessively is trying to suppress pain within themselves.

that lady was very rich and that is only reason her family would leave her alone. she also was nice when she is not drunk. she used to give poor people left and right.
