Maxaa ku dhacay the days where FB/Insta/Snap chat and what-have-yous were about family and close friends?
I've seen a few girls who have a few thousand random/strange followers and their page is public, who mashAllah are btw very beautiful and rather sussceful. Now my thing is this, why are you posting "Walking to my mans work place, we walk home together everyday after he finishes work" on the gram when you know there are probably a few hundred thirsty, been-hunting-for-marriage-for-like-ever, single & seeking heffas on your follow list?
Bishhhhhhhhh guurkaaga maad ka quusatay?
Why has everything become about faan? Besides isha Bani Aadanka maanad ka baqanayn?
What happened to privacy?
It's like yo, I know ultimatley mar walba waa ta Allah but there are means to safeguard oneself of the evil eye.

I just saw another thread "xalimos gone wild" and the second FB video (which is as nasty as it can get) has over a thousand likes and 3k comments.

Yah. Social media has become solely about the most likes and comments. I don't really care about grown people that buy into this hype and over share. It is narcisistic and attention seeking. It is very hard, however to try and instill a value of privacy to younger siblings and cousins without coming across as domineering.

Nail on the head. I have a friend that dresses up with outfit and makeup. She then starts taking pics inside the house, with no plans of going out..but will post those pics on facebook and instagram with #goingout or #datenight or #ladiesnight.

Its really sad to be honest. To seek attention and compliments from strangers you dont know. Have we become that shallow? Have we become that insecure that we let our whole self esteem depend on people we've never met and have no importance in our lives whatsoever? Its also very timeconsuming, time had could have been spent in better ways. Visiting relatives you havent seen for a while, or have a nice conversation with the ones that live with you. Ilaahow na soo hadee.
