In Iraq

the US estimates it will take as many as 25000 iraqis to dislodge up to 2000 ISIS from Mosul!

that is some food for thought!
1 man for more than 10 men!

No one wants to defeat ISIS because the military industrial complex will slow down and sales of billion dollars arm-deals to the region will be at stake without ISIS, they are the evil alternatives shown to the citizens of the Gulf region to scare them with what their countries will become of if they rebel against their dynasties and also, ISIL neutralises the imagined threat of Shia hegemony towards the Sunni regimes like in Bahrain, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq. As long as they don't bring their violence to these rich States, they play a major advantageous role for the geopolitics in the region like a beetle dung contributes to the balance of the Eco-system.
