I first left due to anger out of what the terrorists have been doing in the name of Islam. It was a foolish mistake. I was also angry at many Muslims not condemning the acts of Al Qaeda and ISIS. I left it because I was called a murtad by many for my liberal views of things.

Islam is the true and right religion. It is a beautiful religion and I will not allow it to be tarnished by thugs

I have accepted it is possible to have liberal views and be Muslim. My beef has been with the Salafis. I let those people define Islam.

Honestly if I thought islam was what salafis/wahabis believe I would probably leave islam or just not have any interest in it. I seen it with allot of people..

Always makes me whenever I see "atheists" who leave Islam because of Al-Qaeda and not because of irreconcilable philosophical differences.

Like that video posted in the other thread where all those cringey fuckers are meeting up to talk about how "liberated" they are or whatever, shit makes me embarrassed for them wallahi. If you're going to leave Islam because you have a problem with theological determinism or whatever, I can get that, but abandoning your faith because some shady groups are seemingly provoking a war that's in the interests of outside powers or going the Ayan Hirsi route...that's something I just can't wrap my head around.

No matter how many drinks you knock back, no matter how many times you go on Fox News ranting about Muslims "refusing" to integrate, at the end of the day you're still a non-white immigrant in a deeply prejudiced country that has basically refused to integrate the millions of second class Americans of African descent (let alone recent immigrants), a country where most can't distinguish between Sikhs and Muslims because they don't want to, a country where law enforcement officials operate with complete impunity as long as their victims have a certain skin tone.
