Moving to North Dakota.

Salam everyone,inshallah I'll be moving to North Dakota soon (Fargo) for about a year to save up some fund$.

I understand the area has a sizeable Somali community, could anyone from the area tell me where are all the decent paying Warehouse/Non CDL required jobs are?


Unemployment is 2% there.Looking to make the move between mid & late April.

Not late at all.Fargo's economy isn't oil dependent.You're thinking of Williston on the other end of the state.

Used to know a guy in Fargo supposedly their are retail/service/warehouse type jobs in abundance with starting pay around $15/hr.


My plan is to work 2 full time jobs for a year & save up as much as I can.This time of year the Salmon Canneries in Alaska go on a hiring spree but I think I want a break from that this year.

Lots of friends there, all employed. Place can be lonely but if u have the drive, u can save up tons of money but finding roommates. If u are coming from a warm state, avoid driving in the snow at all costs.

Btw $15 isn't alot if everything is expensive like seattle, we have good paying jobs but the cost of living is ridiculous.

I'm coming from Florida but i used to live in Maine so hopefully it's nothing I haven't encountered before.

If you are not going to oil fields which is about 7 hours away form Fargo, you may consider Minnesota. It's really nice place with unemployment rate just 3% and top companies all there. If you want Somalis, they are there too in abundance

Yea, haven't been on in a while tho tinychat is depressing.

The only positive to florida is the weather & proximity to coastal beaches,you take that away & exclude south florida & it's just a refined version of many southern states. (Growing tired of it)

Humans are very strange here.Not to mention all the transplants from new jersey & new york who think they own the place.

Moving on to greener pastures I just have to save up to do so.
