Pretty stupid going toe to toe with a ferocious animal like a lion. I was waiting for him to get mauled.

I heard back in the days, in Baadiyaha and Miyiga, if a Farax wanted to marry a Xalimo, he had to fight or kill a lion. #Truestory.

I am glad they got rid of that requirement now.

I was told my Awoowe killed 3 lions by himself.

This was in the 40's. He was minding his own business and looking after his cattle (danahiisa ayuu iska watay). When 3 big lions show up out of nowhere. He told 'em to get lost, they refused and a big dagaal happened. Only thing he had was a Waran and a toorey strapped to his waist.

He lost couple of his life stock but managed to kill all 3.
