Somalia needs a new qabiil neutral and modern capital. I would say building a new capital should be the biggest target for the future governments.

Planned cities are vulgar when they are done by poor countries. Compare Abuja tothe one in Abu Dhabi or South Korea.

When Somalis learn to build a government that unites people and progresses the country, then building blocks of bricks and concrete shouldn't be too hard.

The capital city of Somalia should have never been Mogadishu. Mogadishu is fit to be the commercial capital of our country, much like how Mumbai is the business center of India, and how New York is the commercial capital of the United States.

But the capital city should be located on Qabiil-neutral grounds that's far away from any coastline. A city like Galkacyo or Baydhabo would be perfect, and Mogadishu should be left alone and not be involved in government matters whatsoever.

Mogadishu is massive compared to any other Somali city. It's even twice as large as Hargeisa.

And Istanbul is bigger than Ankara, New York is bigger than DC -what's your point?

Size has nothing to do with it. Mogadisho has too much chaotic history. building a new city from scratch should be the way forward.

Baydhabo is not neutral, its D&M and some other people who moved their back in the 80s (like my family(isaaq)).

Galkayco is far from Neutral and is a MJ city which bullies the HG minority.

Why are people naming places that already exist. Egypt is building a new city on empty land. We should do that. Baydhabo & galkacyo both belong to certain qabils nothing neutral there.

Baidoa can never be the capital. Af Maay is dominant there. Government communication should be in standard Somali only. Eventually most of the media will flock to the capital. If Baidoa was the capital it would uglify the Somali language and their horrid dialect would spread out.
