A letter to my younger self.
Dear A___
I know you are feeling overwhelmed, you don't know what this feeling is, breathe in and out. Everything will be alright. You will learn to live with this feeling, it will make you more understanding, less judgmental. I just want you to know that your life will drastically change soon, the person you were closed to most will be gone. You will learn to cope with his absence. You will pray for him and wish he was in your life again. Other than that you have done pretty good for yourself. You will meet someone who will be your mentor and a friend. That person will connect with you on more levels than you couldn't imagine. Also I want you to know you are beautiful, smart and an overall good person. Stop stressing over what's his face. In few years he will be a loser actually he will become a social worker who also helps his fellow somalis but he will be miserable without you. I also want you to stop shopping in forever 21. That store will be out of style. And stop wearing tight abercrombie and Fitch shirts. Btw Ishy is a whore so stop hanging out with her. Your life is pretty awesome so cherish it. Soon you will be an adult and you will have responsibilities. And you will still love xalwa. In few years I will write this to you on a website called somalinet. I love you and I wouldn't change anything about you. Xoxo.
