So far on 23andMe out of the 60 or so Somalis from many different clans I only spotted Bantu ancestry in 2 of them.

One is a Sheekhaal with about 2% Bantu. And the other is a Dhulbahante with an Omani grandparent and he is 4% Bantu. Likely the Zanji came from his Omani side.

All other Somalis = not a drop of Bantu.

As for Somalis we dont have Bantu ancestry simply because we have never collided/met with this population group until recently. And if anyone has any very recent Bantu ancestry then you will know just by looking at their features.

Anyone with a basic grasp of British history is familiar with the Anglo Saxon (Jutes too) invasions and extensive settlement in Central England, Eastern England and the South coast. There would be no English Language was it not for them. Check the similarities between Old English and Frisian, to a lesser extent the modern Saxon dialect too. The Norman conquest bastardised the English Language, hence, why Latin words feature prominently, particularly in the non colloquial use of the language.

Cannot wait for the day, if it ever happens, that a representative genetic study is done on the various Somali subclans to discern how hybrid some of them are. Bare peeps gonna have a breakdown when they realise their supposed fellow clansmen ain't a paternal blood relative.

Maybe you should up on what the Bantus have done to the Khoisan people of Southern Africa. The Khoisan's were completely decimated by the Bantus over a period of several centuries. What makes you think the same thing won't happen to us Cushitic people if we don't get our act together?

No, not really. My DNA results were that of any other typical Somali. I'm not unique

Somalis are a clan confederation, i dont think you need a DNA test to figure that out. But if you go the DNA route the Darood for example have different haplogroup depending on their region. The ones in Ogadenia tend to be T like the Dir. The ones in coastal Puntland are J1. The rest are E1b1b - v32 which is more widespread amongst Somalis, atleast the ones with camel rearing heritage anyways.

This is where you are mistaken, not all members of a clan were adopted. All my fellow Surre clansmen that have taken the test are T. Furthermore, I come from Mudug, another individual I know who took the test comes from J/Hoose, we do not link up in the family tree until the 20th ancestor and our respective subclans moved apart hundreds of years ago. A few Warsangelis have turned out to be J, however, there is a trend among Daroods in general to be E-V32. Ignore the anomalies in any study and look at the dominant haplogroup and there you will find a marker of common ancestry. As for Ogadens testing for T, have not come across one unless you are referring to that UCL study done in Jijiga. It does not refer to the Ogaden clan but the region of Ogadenia, Jijiga being where the samples were obtained from. Jijiga is a multi clan city, predominately Darood and the results illustrate this. As for camel rearing heritage, how do you explain that most HY are T and everybody knows very few clans covert camels like them .
