One thing I've noticed with these new young parents.
There are less Abdi names. These Somalis under 30 are not naming their boys Abdi-Something anymore. The Abdi population is on a rapid decline.
No more seeing a family of 4 boys all called Abdi.

I've noticed they started giving them exotic Arabic names... not even the common Islamic ones but really odd ones.

What would you name them then? Somalis don't have their own names except those ugly old ones which grandads have. And you can't give them white or A A names. What do you suggest?

What's so ugly about Awale, Guleed, Samatar, Dalmar, Dirshe etc... sounds much better than shit Arabic names.Euphoriia wrote:What would you name them then? We do have our own names, there's nothing ugly with having a traditonal Somali name, you would have to understand Somali in order to deem a name ugly; can you read Somali poetry? If your answer is no then you can't possibly be a judge of what's a beautiful or ugly Somali name.

You have issues... those are just decent names. Arabic names sound even worse than Somali names with all those Zs & Khs.Euphoriia wrote:The only one that sounds decent in that list is guleed and even that's ugly.
