I think we will see a very strong Shia presence in future middle eastern politics. They've been marginalized by so called sunni leadership and now they're starting to unite across borders. I don't support the so called sunni regimes in anyway. Saudi Arabia is quick to bomb yemen but won't defend our brothers in Palestine. Saudi arabia has been funding terrorists for decades. Their general unspoken motto is "If your gonna do jihad, Do it somewhere else". That I would agree with you. I'd take Turkey or Egypt over KSA, but the Arab world wouldn't trust the Turks, since they aren't Arabs. And Egypt doesn't have the LACAG to be as influential as KSA. So we are left with the Saudis for now.
