three clans are keeping al Shabaab alive.
why? two reasons
1- economy. huge amount of ISBAARO income from banaadir, lower shabelle, middle and lower juba, small airports , port. ect. are lost because law and order is coming back.

2- position. all those regions ( banaadir, lower shabelle, middle and lower juba, small airports , port.) were lost because of federalism.
stability of the country means loss for those 3 clans

Most folk know the business elite in Mogadishu have close links to Al shabaab.

you have to remember that kabaab is a cash cow

These folks dominate the business and politics.....surely it's in their interest to have a stable Somalia.
Or are they just addicted to the war/chaos economy?

don't worry every region has a choice
either live with bloody life or liberate your family and your home town
