Why abandon the hijab?
Why are so many somali girls nowadays taking off their hijabs, or wearing them 50/50? Don't they fear Allah? I've seen far too many somali girls on beautysites with tight clothes and hair (sometimes even cleavage and more) out on display. why is it that some of u sisters are so conserned with pleasing this dunyaa? I am not critizing.. i'm actually worried about this trend. modesty over beauty ladies!

Why are you stealing another girls pic and using it as your avatar?

How do you know it's not her?Sulfur wrote:Why are you stealing another girls pic and using it as your avatar?
OP, I do believe that in these testing times, apart from a good word and a gentle reminder, there is nowt much that can be done in the way of persuasion.

Re: Why abandon the hijab?
Wearing a hijab just means that people assume you're a "good" girl so you can get away with a lot more. In contrast girls who don't wear hijab are guilty before they've even done anything
So the girl in that picture with pouty lips and a come-hither expression is just "posing innocently"
Take off her hijab and she's a slut trying to seduce men on the internet
Hijab is important but it should be about more than just a cloth on your head. If you are not modest through and through you can't judge others and if you were modest through and through, you wouldn't feel the need to in the first place

I don't meant to interject, but you mean what it's come to these days? I just want to clarify, if you are simply pointing out the bad apples who creep under hijab, it is a point worth noting, I am not disputing this, but wearing the hijab, as I am sure u understand is intended for all good purposes, for those who make an earnest go out it...and there are plenty of good muslimahs out there doing just that.
That being said, I don't agree with OP's approach..

Since you want to be on that judging wave.... Why are you wearing makeup on your avi? Why do your eyebrows look like you pluck them? Isn't that haraam?
It's peoples choice how they dress, all you can do is advise them, if they don't take that advise, make dual for them and mind your own instead of judging.
If you really care make dua and it could be that Allah accepts your dua and guides their heart and makes the hijab easy for them.

With all that being said any of you ladies trim shuunka?

Re: Why abandon the hijab?
no comparison between two of them. wearing hijab is an obligation... after that its between the person and his faith that why the hypocrisy... morality and ethics r totally different thing, you can find white people who have better ethics than a muslim people.BlackVelvet wrote:Wearing a hijab just means that people assume you're a "good" girl so you can get away with a lot more. Re: Why abandon the hijab?
No one is perfect but hijaab is intended to be more than a cloth on your head. My point was not about bad apples. Hijaab and modesty is a requirement for all Muslims and it is a case of putting on the cover of Islam so you may be judged by it.zulaika wrote:Hi BV,

Unfortunately from observation hijaab has become a camouflage.
The solution here is not for everyone to take off the hijaab, the solution is to realise that putting on a scarf does not make anyone a good human being with akhlaaq. In fact it creates a blindspot because akhlaaq is the natural conclusion that you would jump to. I suppose you could argue your point that that blindspot is where those bad apples thrive.
No, the difference is that one person's sins (not wearing hijaab) is plainly obvious while the other's is not.sahal80 wrote:no comparison between two of them. wearing hijab is an obligation... after that its between the person and his faith that why the hypocrisy... morality and ethics r totally different thing, you can find white people who have better ethics than a muslim people.
Not wearing hijaab is a sin, a hijabi sleeping with a man she's not married to is also a sin. Which of the two is more immoral?

Can you pray without facing the qiblah?BlackVelvet wrote:No, the difference is that one person's sins (not wearing hijaab) is plainly obvious while the other's is not.sahal80 wrote:no comparison between two of them. wearing hijab is an obligation... after that its between the person and his faith that why the hypocrisy... morality and ethics r totally different thing, you can find white people who have better ethics than a muslim people.

Whatever good you r and whatever morals you had your not the same person who follows the right direction and teachings
Hijab is more an identity and symbol than a moral value, it doesn't mean this person has a high morals...its a shield to avoid harassment.
On the other hand morality is not exclusive to muslims, you can also find a non religious people with better morals than a religious people.
Any person is free to follow the deen or not but I'm against making excuses, that's hypocrisy.

Actually morality is a big part of it, it goes hand in hand with protection. Allah said cover yourselves so they may know that you are a Muslim (Qur.an 33:59)sahal80 wrote:Can you pray without facing the qiblah?

But I don't understand what you mean by making excuses? You mean excuses for not wearing the hijaab? Show me where? I have said wearing the hijaab is obligatory and not wearing it is a sin. Where's the hypocrisy?
Re: Why abandon the hijab?
I dont mean you, just seen similar arguments that r used againist the hijabi women like she can be a slut and i who dont wear hijab have high morals lolBlackVelvet wrote:Actually morality is a big part of it, it goes hand in hand with protection. its very simple, just say im against hijab, I mean them girls.
moral is inside issue not about the appearance
hijab is for not to cause fitna and depends on the country
in the west women can wear less clothes
in arabia she needs to cover more
but all this is for obeying allah and doesnt proof having high morals
al iman is some thing that settles in the heart
but I have to respect her as a sister and to be honest the non hijabi is seen as easy even if she wasnt like that hence the...
once a convert sister was complaining to me how the muslim men disrespect her by asking her hand infront of the masjid and shops
they r judging her for her past as english girl but they dont dare to do this to an arab or somali girl
just look at this site and these call girls who r saying do you want to flirt with me
we r sick of women wallahi
