A branch of the afar people but they consider themselves stand alone tribe though they understood eachother linguistically
Saho means cow caretaker, a nomad name just like samaale

It does sound similar to af Somali.
I have Saho relatives.. Sadly only the older generation speak the language.

some yes. but as a group....no way. just like habeshata, its easy to tell the difference between this group and a group of somalis.

Sounds similar to somali in the way it sounds (if that makes sense). But the words are totaly different.

I read somewhere that Northern Somali (Af-Maxatiri) has an Afar substratum in its language, while Af-Maay lacks this.
Afars may have lived in Northern Somalia in the past, but could have been pushed out by Maxatiri invaders from the riverine area.

individually....not always. there are individual dhulbahante that look hindi. some that look like carab. some that look like jareer. some look habash.
but I can always spot a group of Somalis from any other group of people. even those we closely resemble.
