I am not necessarily a fan of how justice was dished out.
Laakin that is the law and custom, if you cannot pay diya you are locked up.
Given the alternatives, I think I prefer this way.


As for releasing him ...I don't know about that, would you have him locked up indefinitely?
It is expensive to feed and clothe him indefinitely. I also personally think it is
an injustice to have someone locked up for the rest of their lives.
If they commit cold-blooded murder for example, a death sentence would be better for them than
a life sentence.

As for the money, $18,000 is a lot of money back home. Anymore, and it is just
unreasonable

All that being said, a group of strangers raised $18,000 in order to have this man released
since he was bilaa tol. I think that is a commendable thing to do
