I just realized you're not supposed to keep buying shavers but just buy the blade cartridges and chuck out the old cartridge when it no longer is effective.

I did not know this.

My question is.... I'm buying Bic and Shick shavers that are 5 blade but they suck after being used 3-4 times.

Are they crap quality? Or is this normal?

Those commercialized ones are pretty bad I've found. I have some no name one and it's great, been using it for a while now.

I use electric shavers. No shaving cream, no ingrown hairs, and they are long lasting. I've been using the same one for 4 months now, and it still cuts like new.

Yeah...I do the same thing.

I also use the bic shavers but only twice before I dispose of it.
I think I just might buy an electric shaver.

Not all beards are equal, I don't shave but I use clippers until I can grow a full rick ross.

I have been using an electric Phillips shaver like the one mcloving posted for 3 years now and it is much easier to use and carry when travelling. It is expensive but worth the money in the longer term.
