I been asked this question in a FB group and I looked for an answer in SL Constitution and I found no clause referring to the gender of the candidates for the post of presidency as well as vice president, however , all the leading sentences in list of conditions starts with the pronoun HE which grammatically used to refer to a male person !!!.

There was well educated woman who stood against egal once.

ok LeJusticier, i will take ur word although i never heard about.

by all means that was before the consitution been drafted since Egal AUN elections were in 90s and SL drafted the consitution in 2000.

so from the snapshot above what can u deduce from using "HE" referring to president as male person but not officially mention the gender..!!

I recall that back one of the first politicians to announce their candidacy against then incumbent president Egal was a Lady, I can't recall the name. While she was officially acknowledged but odayaasha ayaa dhaqanka ayaa yidhi odayga (egal) buuqa ka daa....

If you look deep into the constitution you will find countless violations to basic principles with no justification or explanation.......

Naag can run for vote but that doesn't mean she will win and even if she does that does not guarantee her approval or acceptance. Trust me they will demand a recount immediately and before you know they will inform their international donors that she is in Edna hospital giving birth to the future President. Male of course

All the indications are in the article. The keyword is HE. There is no SHE nor PERSON but clearly HE. I would personally assassinate a Lander female president. For all we know she could claim she fell in a hole in Las Qorey and come back six months pregnant. I say no to naago and Madaxtooyo.

well, Edna Adam was the foreign minister during the late president Mr.mohamed Ibrahim Egal ( AUN ),

and as the french maid mentioned there was a somalilander woman running for presidency along side with president Mr.mohamed Ibrahim Egal ( AUN ),
