If You Came Back Home Today

With all the funds you needed for a comfortable life.

What is your first priority?

I want to create a business big enough that one day I'd be able to focus on underprivileged women and children from profits, inshaAllah. But the business is first on my list.

Well, if I ever go back to Somalia, it's gonna be for retirement and to get away from America.

But since my parents have no land and I am estranged from both sides of my family (dhinaca aabe, iyo hooyo, bcuz lacag uma diri jirin :)) I am gonna have to work extra long to buy property, built a house and go there.

This would add maybe 5-7yrs living in Qurbaha before I can get everything set. And then retire there permanently, and wait for Dhimasho and that final ride into the sunset.

It's been fun journey and fun life.

No land? Damn your parents, what were your parents doing all these years in Babylon; if they weren't making bread and sending it back home?

Somalis are sheep. Most will never return home unless things improve drastically. When you're a refugee in bloody Cambodia or Latvia, that shows you are not particularly interested in returning home. The problem is, nobody wants to work hard to make it happen. I guarantee you if Somalia miraculously transformed into UAE overnight in terms of wealth, 90% of the diaspora would be booking flights back home so fast Daallo/Jubba Airways would overtake Qatar airways and talking about "WAAR HAYAAY! Dulkii baa bislaadey. Gotta get that ayrab money!"

I love working with children and I am glad I took a career path in early childhood education.

If I was to go back to Somalia I'd start off with building shelters for orphans and preschool centres. A lot of savings to do first In sha Allah :)

For me it's mostly humanitarian work. But obviously I need to be established and get good money to help the poor unless I get funded. Regardless my aim is to help needy people if I ever decide to return home for good or for a long period of time.

I would like to start business, but not as long as these knife-wielding maniacs are there, maybe some regions that are Al-Kalab free. I am thinking inside Ethiopia. :?

Invest heavily in agriculture along the Jubba river and resettle my Mugdi Mudug cousins around the Jammaame, Jilib area.

Create a private militia to protect my business interests, the Dirty South is the Wild Wild West after all.
