The Somalis were singled out by a top party leader in the UK as being useless and all immigration from that country stopped. A community that is not respected by both legislators and the public but deeply disliked.

This is very different in other Somali communities. My foreign minister (the most important cabinet minister in any government) begs to have a Somali as his chief of staff in a department of 10,000 employees and begs a Somali man replace him as MP after he stepped down a month ago.

He never mentioned Somali's in the interview, I was watching it. He was talking about preference for Indian/Austrialian migrants because of their affliation with British system/values/language etc over East Europeans.

The interviewer just tricked him with that question they knew he would always favour the Aussie. But politicians know the power of the Somali community. Perhaps but the source is weak. btw lol Jamaicans, they would say that. Considering Somalis have cleaned up every shit hole they used to dwell. What's the most effective way to tackle drugs in neighbour hoods? Move migrant Somali families into the area. Jamaicans hate Somali's because we beat on them regularly. Until they leave and relocate to other cities with the help of the UK government who hate them more than we do. Somali's are treated with respect, despite our social status. Like the middle classes we are very politically active and could get our way if we choose to.

Jamaicans are bottom of the social ladder. That is across the board. Somali's...yeah we have our black sheep - and sometimes they are most visible. But most Somali people in London are educated and successful.
