BigBreak wrote:very interesting analysis from you sahal, indeed fascinating that the current defence minister going to iran is a sunni and that certain sunnis are still siding with the president still to this day
also, what do you think about the dissent some of assad's own fellow alawites are showing to his regime as this article attests to:
https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles ... s-alawites
sxb asad has wide support in the army and the ruling arab nationalist party not just within his alawite minority for many reasons
first the opposition has no funds and these soldiers need their wages to be paid
syria has 23 million people and 10 million of them depend on the state directly and the opposition is talking about targeting these people just like they treated them in iraq
syria is a rich farming country and hafiz has left behind a huge social and economical revolution
every syrian village is so beautiful
farmers enjoy free state serving, even the southren nomads have had evey thing to the point you cant believe how they have alternative artificial green lands when theres a draught
some parts of syria is green like europe in the west and north
they also have rivers in the east
so despite the huge loss, people still have no other alternatives
every time a syrian figure defects they look down at him and say he just here to spy on them!
the forces that r fighting against the regime get paid by foreing organizations and countries separately, some r jihadists and muhajireen that why you got many rebels like they r some ngos
so this means you only got the govt
I can show you a lot of videos where the army forces and rebels r chatting, shaking hands, in the same building but the soldiers r refusing to join them though they r sunna for these reasons
In syria theres strong social justice and if your alawi the only way to gain power is to join the army not outside of it where people r treated the same
this bc the regime depends on the army so sunna has no influence in the army
defense minister in syria has no power and he cant sign shyt but the sunna elites in the power r very rich just like the alawites
look at the family of the former defense minister mustafa talas they r all business people who have industrial companies
hafiz al asad was wise man, he refused any social differences between the alawites and the sunni majority
so the alawites have been supporting his brother rifcat al asad who was unjust
there was power struggle between them in the 80s until rifcat was kicked out from syria since that time
there has been a lot of failed alawite military coup to bring him back for his support of beesha
hafiz believed that the day he will allow this will be the end of the alawite regime
since bashar came to power, iran has been dictating to syria while hafiz was using her
now syria is fully under the control of iran, its iran who sends hizpullah and tells the regime what to do to the point they infiltrated in the ruling family and can change bashar himself
hafiz was depending on his sunni son of law who stopped all the alawite attempts to remove him
this guy was assasinated by iran and bashar circles at the start of the crisis in order to pave the way for iranian control
its funny bc bashar was looked after by this guy until he reached power
now the alawite want not just political but also a social change in their favour so they cant wait to take over bashar but what still keeps them from this is iran whos negotiating with the west on the fate of asad
if the west agrees some change from within the alawite military institution, iran will give the go ahead for such change.
