Well 100,000 people come here every year, mostly from left wing places. That's 1 million since 2005 in a tiny place. They bring their politics too.

I woke up to see snow just now and its below zero. It was 24 degrees and sunny just 12 hours ago

NDP seems like the best of the parties available in Canada.Awesome.

Methylamine is there a website I can go to that will tell me which provinces are NDP?
I tried googling the answer.
"which province are NDP in Canada in 2015"
"which province are NDP in Canada in 2014"
"which province are NDP "
These searches feel like a fail. Maybe you know where I can go. Please and thank you

Progressive conservatives? Sounds pretty oxymoronic to me, though I love the idea of the opposition party being the Wildrose Party

Pretty telling power shift really from the land that brought you oil sands and the stampede......Hope to fuck we see the Tories tossed out in October

The Liberals leave their economic shitholes in Quebec and Ontario, and then decide to bring this liberal bullshit to Alberta.

And now they've elected a Socialist government in Alberta. Watch what these Socialists will do. In the name of "equality" and "fairness"....they will dramatically increase government spending and regulations, hire tens of thousands of unnecessary government employees, and make it much more difficult to do business in the province.

Socialism sounds good in theory, but never works in practice. Ever.

Look at the disastrous effects when France elected a Socialist Government which increased taxes to 75%. Utter disaster to the economy and to living standards.

The Albertans will regret electing these Socialists into power.

Exactly. I get why our parents generation supported and may still support the Liberals and the NPD, due to more generous social spending (Cayr etc), but I don't get why young Somalis who can work for their livilihoods would support them. Increased taxes and regulations will just result in capital flight and less jobs. Also, their socially liberal views (pro homosexuality, feminism, abortion etc) are antithetical to Islam and our culture and to the well being of any civilization.

Please understand. I am young and work for a living and I will vote NDP. NDP offers the most services out of the three parties( the three parties are NDP, Liberal, Conservatives). The more services the better to me. That means more services for special need people and disability people. I have sibling who has special needs. I want them to have access to as many services as possible. And I want live near them. So NDP works in my interest. Maybe my city will change to NDP one day. We plan on moving anyways, So i might as well choose an NDP city.

So please vote NDP it makes life easier on other people

Lol I love it when people who don't know what the fuck they're talking about condemn Socialism like it's some sort of punishment against the rich. Socialist/left-leaning states like Sweden, Denmark, UK and even Canada have much better living standards than US. Better education, better healthcare, smaller income gaps and lower social disparity. Socialism when used properly is a useful safety net for low-income families that require extra income. It get's a bad rep because Somalis and lower-clas whites/madows/etc can abuse it. But that's because countries like UK apply it inefficiently. In theory, benefits/welfare should be an income suppliment not a replacement. Using France as example of a socialist state is like using Somalia as an example of laissez faire state -it's stupid and paints an inaccurate picture. France's problem is that it is more corrupt and more unionist than other left-leaning states. It also has a bigger class/income disparity problem than countrie like Sweden for instance.

Also Socialism doesn't = Liberalism. You are conflating two separate things. For instance I'm economically socialist but politically conservative.

NDP forming the next Alberta government? War horta malahubaa warkaan? For me, this is like one those moments that one thinks he would never live long enough to see it happen. Anyway, kudos to the dimwitted rednecks in Alberta for finally getting it right and doing away with the Tories' half-a-century chokehold in this province's politics. Good riddance!

Exactly

Whenever Socialists take power, it results in higher taxation, more government regulations, and a reduced standard of living. It's not a coincidence that the most prosperous states in the world also happen to be the most economically free nations. Just look at Singapore, Switzerland, New Zealand, and other free-market nations.

Dude, socialism has failed even in countries where it was supposed to work. Just look at the disaster that exists in Eastern Europe and Venezuela. People in Venezuela can't even have access to basic consumer goods, like soap and toilet paper. And you want to tell me that socialism is good for the common man? France and Italy are perfect examples of what socialism does to a prosperous nation. Those two countries are now suffering economically and their youth are all unemployed.

Go and visit Italy. Their taxes are sky-high, it's extremely difficult to open up a business, and the unemployment amongst the youth is very high as well. Socialists pretend to care about the plight of the common man, but the results of their policies ALWAYS lead to disaster. Every single time.

So you can't have any Socialism. At all?
Do you live in Canada?

I think I have experience living in cities from all three parties. At least I think i have enough experience. Maybe more experience with 2. Conservative and Liberal

Kaafiye- Please answer this question. Will socialism with balance help you more if you end up sick or will the alternative you are suggesting help more? If the alternative you are suggesting is better I will honestly look it up. If I find that you are right I will change my opinion to your side.
