Banadir status as a region was never disqualified since it still remains one of Somalia's 18 regions, and as a region it will be expected to merge with another region since no one region can stand alone. For Banadir the merger process will be a lot easier once Mogadishu's boundaries are drawn. M. Shebelle is still up for grabs if folks in Banadir are serious about becoming a federal member state.
