Dir according to Somalia is

gadabursi- issak, issa, gurgure, akisho, madigan, jarso, all the dir in south ie biyamal, bajimaal, surre, gadsan etc..
Basically all the original somali!

According to somaliland
all the above except issaq who depend on the weather are midgaan, arab, israel, without father or history, Dir, oromo etc ..

Isaac isn't Dir but not surprised the minority Dir always looking for numbers. They claim anyone from Isaac to Oromo tribes including Akisho.

Akisho are part Oromo, part Somali but the majority of them are Afran Qallo Oromo as are most Jaarso and Gurguura. Their vote was with Oromia Region but many Oromo clans can be assimilated into Somali as Digil and Mirifle were once did----they are originally Borana.

Djib

Jarso are a confederation of Dir, Darood and Oromo. They are wrongly classified as Dir.

Stuckon21

Clans like Akisho were partly Oromised hence the confusion. Some were absorbed by the Oromos after the Axmed Gurey wars hence why you will find Akisho being called Akichu in Harar.

Serene

They are too many, some with dubious links to Dir whilst others are part of the Raxanweyn confederation. Concern yourself only with the Somali speaking ones in the North, K5 and South. The Gurgura are a bilingual Somali Dir clan that live in the Dire Dawa vicinity and the Harar area. Go to their Facebook pages or blogs to find out about their history.

Hawdian

Get the fuck out of this thread, your hypocrisies have been highlighted once too often. The fact remains many Isaaq are proud of their Dir roots. History does not lie either.

As for Afran Qallo, it is an established fact that they are a hybrid confederation. The Barsuug who were a mainly Somali speaking Dir clan in the 1850's and are now classified as being part of the Huume Oromos. So stop trolling this thread please.

.
Who are proud of their Dir roots apart from some Dirty Waqooyi sell out donkeys in Mogadishu? Barsuug are Arab sheekh Isxaaq by the way, they attended the Arab conference "afgarad" in large numbers last year.

Zumaale the Dir minority,

The reason you're getting all emotional and sensitive is you cannot handle the truth. Like I said the Dir are always shopping for numbers since they are a minority in every region. You can get shot for adding Isaac to Dir.

The Oromo Akisho, Jarso and Gurguura equally hate being associated with a minority when they are a member of a nation of 35 million strong.

Sorry kiddo. Maybe you can claim the Eskimos next. Good luck convincing Isaac that they are a minority :whew:

Hawdian  carry on.

CaynabaX, the Barsuug are listed in Futhul Habash separately from Habar Magadle and are clearly identified as being a separate Dir clan in First Footsteps in East Africa. Furthermore, there are Arabs that were adopted into the Barsuug clan, however, that does not make Barsuug an Arab clan.

I have had this type of debate one too many times, to each his own guys. I am not forcing anything down anyone's throat.

first of all dir are not minority we are over 8 million people atleast. isaaq, akishe, barsuug and jaarso are all dir. I don't care who phuked who and who what color or dna each one have. dir is the general umbrella that represents all the above plus ciise, samaron biimaal surre and bajimaal. and yes there are millions of isaaqs who are proud to part of the mighty dir nation.

most importantly the top isaaq political and clan leaders are very match pro dir. the thing is dir name is not advertised as darod or hawiye. dir subclans don't show of their dirnes except the southern dir. even most gadabursi and ciise people don't say we are dir. they just say we are gadabursi or ciise although they don't mind or disagree if you tell them that gadabursi is subclan of dir.

isaaqs are not different from the above two clans, we simply know less about our brothers and alliances, and not aware of what is dir. I swear to my god I didn't know what is dir few years ago but today i am at the point that I genuinely love biimaal and habar awal equally. I will spread the name of dir as much as I can .
