In the rivalry between the Hawiye clans, seems like Marehan will be kingmakers.

I know that Marehan will get Vice President and will probably have a heavy hand in which of the multitude of Hawiye clans get President.

I can just imagine the alliance building going on. You have to understand that in the "home" region there rivalry is very local. For example the enmity between Sacad and Saleebaan or Murusade and Duduble is more intense than say Marehan and Habar Gidir.

26 for Sacad is too little. We brought federalism and saved Dhusamareb, Cadaado, Guriceel, from being turned into wastelands during the ICU vs. TFG. We deserve at least 40 for agreeing to expand Galmudug, the only Hawiye mamuul with recognition.

Abdiwahab, Wagardhac is most closest to Sacad in Mudug when it comes to neighbors and intermarriage. The question you posed deserves your own response. Maybe they are running away from your dhaqan xumo? The Marehan and Cayr don't seem to have much problems except one tit for tat recently that was jointly crushed.

Habar Gidir alone has 104, that's excluding the other Hawiye subclans; while Mareexan have only 67. How do you celebrate such a tragedy, is beyond me.

If you look at the state as simply Darood and Hawiye, then of course it will tilt one way or another. But the reality is as the list is written. There is Marexaan, Ceyr, Sacad, Saleeban, etc. They are seen as individual units or blocks. Sacad and Ceyr do not have the same interests let alone Murursade and Saleebaan. As a single unit, and yes Marexaan works as a unit for many reasons but mainly because they are localized in the same area and have the same interests, we are the largest block.

Lastly, there is a historically rivalry between all those Hawiye sub clans, so in reality there is no such thing as Hawiye in the central region.

This is essentially the main state for Habar Gidir, Murusade, Duduble etc and the area is very diverse with a different clan in every district.

There is no Darod and Hawiye, or Marehan and Habar Gidir in local central politics. There is Marehan, Cayr, Sacad, etc because that's how each other of those groups choose to identify there.

The whole process is a tragedy. Nothing is democratic. There is no multi party system. No ballots casted. Just a bunch of old wrinkly men handpicked by even older wrinkly men from under a tree. And why does a region that probably doesn't even have half a million people need 350 representatives? My country of 35 million only has 308.

But this is a step forward. This paves the way for a better system. The building blocks....
