Hargeisa water upgrade underway

Not sure the exact cost but the last time I remember it was said it will cost about $30 million.

Two companies; an Ethiopian and French, won the tender contract.

They have arrived in Hargeisa with their equipment and work is to commence.

It is jointly funded by EU and Somaliland Development Fund. The main water source/bed is located 22km north of Hargeisa.

Hargeisa water is priority. I hope our people will have enough water in every corner of the city.

A senior water Engineer, Mr Ali Haibe Mohamed, who involved in the inception of Hargeisa Water supply in 1970s as well as the later restoration of the system in 1991 and late 1990s has also voiced concern over this plan in February 2013 according to local media outlets (Somaliland press and Somaliland sun).
Wonderful if they did. Much needed.

This project is upgrade of Geed Deeble funded by the EU

There is also another project going on in Xumboweyne which is funded by Emirates,
