Decades from now, perhaps even when a full century lapses, we, the Somalis of cyberspace will continue to speak of the Legend of the Field-Marshall Menace.

I've been on Somali-Net, on-and-off, as a member and/or a lurker, since the early 00's. Out of the thousands of forumers I've seen come and go, there are maybe 20 or so, that I have mad respect for.

Field Marshal Menace is easily in the top 10. Here's why:

Wa mida kowaad, in a age and era where cudur'ka baas ee qabyaalad-qurun has infected the vast majority of Soomaali meeshii madaxa dhigtaan'ba, including cyberspace, Menace was one of the few heroes who refused to answer the jaahili call of qabyaalad, but instead spat in it's face. The Political Action Committee which represents his qabiil, Duriyada-PAC, launched vicious assault after vicious assault so that he would toe the line. After coughing up xaaqo and spitting in the face of the Duriyada-PAC, the Menace replied: "My father(AUN) and thousands of brave Somalis did not fight in 1977 so that you can fragment us into a hundred futo-lands. Do you not know, O feeble-minded folk, that qabiil qaran ma noqdo?"

Such powerful phrasing coined by the Menace: Qabiiil qaran ma noqdo!

Duriyada responded by calling him a sheegato, a false claimant to faraca Banu Haashim, in an desperate attempt, after all other measures failed, to delegimitise him. Turns out the Menace is from one of the most powerful and illustrious Houses of Duriyada barakaysan: House Grey-xajis-Joy. #Duriyada-PAC = EPICFAIL


The Defiance of Menace, as his famous rebellion against the Duriyada Empire came to be known, is important history that we must all learn and whose lessons we must impart to our children and they to their children, and so on and so forth. Because it is exactly so RARE; Only a handful of Somali-netters have shown a similar level of courage against their Beesha. Here are two examples:

- We all know FAH1223, webmaster, future candidate for high office and an all-around good guy(Good Guy FAH meme), but did you know that for the longest time ever, Taliye AW252 was trying to get him to sign on to the HAG agenda and to accept the wretched legacy of the USC mooriyaan? Yeah, and FAH never paid him no mind; he'd just be like "pssh, eff outa here with BS, sxb. Don't nobody got time for that qabiil nonsense". Constantly rebuffed, the Taliye decided to use the trump card and attempt to "shame" FAH into compliance. He was like " this kid doesn't even know his abtirsi or qabiil, waa caroorta Big Mac iyo Sesame Street ku koray" that's when FAH dropped the hammer on him right quick with: Ni99a, I'm Xawaa88le, AND WHAT" You see, the Taliye was trying to denigrate and deligemitse FAH, but FAH flipped the script on him by showing he knew who he was and his roots, but that he wouldn't let that define him or influence him. One of the most powerful assertions of individuality in Somalinet History, and a triumph of 21st century modernity over the archaic notion of qabiil("hey, we supposedly share fictitious lineage bonds; let's be friends!")

- Sidaas oo kale, Shaykh Hyper; when the Kenyans invaded Kismaayo along with the Dothraki Horde of Axmed Madoobe & Ghaandi; certain Somalinetters like metaphormaosi and Patriort were popping champagne bottles because they thought "FINALLY, KISMAYO UNUKA ISKA LEH", they tried recruit Shaykh Hyper to provide religious legitimacy to the efforts of Beesha thinking that it would easy since "fiqi tolkiisa kama jana'tago(a religious man does not enter heaven without the consent of his tribe). But Shaykh Hyper is a man on another level, he refuses to follow religious dogma("mahdi doesn't exist, fictitious creation); both as a judge, as a son, as a brother, and a Somali-Netter, he follows his fitrah, his heart, and tries to do the right thing. So thats when he said his famous maqoolah: "I would rather have Barre Hiiraale govern Kismaayo, before I will accept or support invading Kenyans". And with that powerful statement, he shattered the flimsy rationalizations of the Dothraki Horde, who were trying to justify grand treason.

Unfortunately, and ironically, this great Somalinet Triumvirate, Menace, Hyper, FAH, who shared so many courageous qualities, came undone, and FAH and Shaykh Hyper turned on the Menace, sending him into permanent exile. A sad moment in SomaliNet history.

For as long as Menace was here on Somalinet, he criticized every regressive and reactionary thought, belief, and political figure. From the cursed murderous dictator Siad Barre to the even more cursed bloodthirsty mooriyaan Caydiid to the absolutely most cursed of them all, the traitor Cabdullahi Yusuf, the living legend Meance karbaash'd them all equally.

Meance stood up for the Shacab, the common man, woman, and child. Whether it is or for the famine victims and the fundraising efforts he led at OSU and in the Buckeye State; or the charity he raised for the orphans and poor folk in the streets of Hargeisa, the Menace was a Magnus Colossus of Deeq'sinmo.

When a large chunk, perhaps even a majority, of todays culuma/wadaads/sunni-orthodoxy were revealed to be lying thieving cheating fraudsters who use religion and religious sentiment to ruin the lives of hundreds of millions(student-loans iz haramz! but embezzling donations to build villas is halalz; liberation-struggle is haramz!, but raping slaves is halalz!), and even worse, foster sectarian hate and division, Menace stood up and cursed them with his trademark habaars: May you contract an incurable STD; May your kidneys and liver fail and fall out"

Sidaas oo kale, when the Menace uncovered the massive perpetual corruption in Villa Somalia led by Xasan Qoslaaye and his cronies as well as his predecessors in office, he would also curse the responsible officials and their children. When he was asked, "baraadar, kuwaan madax-isku-sheega la gartay, laakin maxaa kuugu wata habaar'ka caroor'ta ay dhaleen, he replied: "they also benefit from the corruption and tuug'nimo. As such, they are also included in the curse"

Lil B's curse vs Menace's curse, we shall see which curse is more potent.

But probably the number one reason I respect the Field Marshall is because of his honesty and self-acceptance. We live in a era where liars are lauded; to find a honest man is rare as finding a intelligent wadaad/shaykh.

The Field Marshall waged the liberation-struggle because he was honest enough to accept that part of his life. He didn't create excuses. He didn't fabricate hadiths(like so many of the 'pious salaf' did). He didn't try to come up with religious justification. He didn't pay/bribe ulema . No. He said: "this is who I am. this is what I i do. I liberate those in need of liberation. I swim in and drink from the mighty river of the Nile."

He accepted himself for who and what he is, for who and what all of us are: Sexual Beings, and he waged the liberation-struggle because his Creator, Ebbe Most-High, encoded it in his DNA. In the same and manner that Nabi Yuusuf sought to liberate his boss's wife, and he would have done so were it not for direct divine intervention by Ebbe Most-High. "wa laqad hama't bihi wa hama bihaa lowlaa an' ra'aa burhaana Rabih"

I ask you, brethern: Who among us doesn't yearn for the healing touch of a woman?

I ask you, braadars: Who among us dozen't hunger for the soft curves of woman?

And so, driven by that hunger, and guided by that innate homing beacon, he launched an epic 17 hour journey in the height of winter of 2010 to the frozen environs of xagaa iyo Wisconsin, to liberate a pyt from the frozen agony of a solitary dorm bed. Why should they both suffer from the freezing cold and agonizing loneliness, when they can liberate each other in warmth?

And yet, some ignorant waxmagarto, some jealous haterz would call him a degenerate, a faasiq. For what?

The Menace did not exploit the poverty and illiteracy off innocent muslimahs(and non-muslimahs alike) and trick them into to a made-halal-by Bin-Baz/Bin-Cuthaym-SunniOrthodoxy. When the Shiica allow Mutca, we curse them as "children of mu'tah", but when we do the EXACT SAME THING with zawaj-misyar and zawaj-bi-niyyat-talaaq, then we say: "it is the wisdom of our noble ulema" Oh man, we Sunnis have taken hypocrisy to another level.

The Menace did not provide religious justification for the devilish evil known as slavery; nor did he purchase another human being as if they were dugaag, for the malicious purpose of forcible sexual gratification aka rape/kufsi. For 1400 years to this very day, the evil of slavery has been justified by cowardly wretches who wanted free sex and free muscle-labor, but let it be known that Menace would have never allowed or justified the wretched institution of slavery.

Yaziid ina Mucaawiya(or any number of Ummayad/Abbasid Caliphs) can be boy-raping pederasts and mass-murdering butchers and yet somehow they are "forgiven" "because taabici" and "because waliyul-amr", yet when the Menace engages in the innate, instinctive, liberation-struggle in a consensual manner...........he's a faasiq, he's a degenerate? All I can say to that is: "like-a-somebody, fuk you bik":

All the Menace did was liberate and love. Openly. Honestly. With full self-acceptance. Compared to the horrors wrought and the rivers of blood spilled in the name of Religion, what so wrong about liberating and loving?

And so I stand before you today, the august host of Somali-Net, Golaha barakeysan ee Somali-net, and I ask you: before you cast judgment on the Legend, before you join the rancid ranks of those saying "good riddance", consider this:

- what did the Menace do except love and liberate?

- did he not defend the name and honor of Somalis wherever he was?

- read the works of the Meance on this forum and on his blog myhajj20blogspotdhibiccom

- understand that some of his more scandalous claims(illegtimate children) was mere kaftan and trolling; it is not a crime for a man to make jokes, is it?

- sidaas oo kale, whenever he would copy and paste news articles and replace them with Somali names, it was done all in fun, yes it was short-sighted and tarnished the name of Somalis, but the Liberator Meance is still young, and he was having childish fun.

brother he made up many lies I can point out many in that paragraph alone. Who said Building villaz with donation money is halal? That is clearly haram? If few individuals who claim to be sheikhs do that doesn't make that halal. Liberation struggle is haram? Of course zina is haram Allah told us la taqribo zina do not go near adultery.

Raping slaves is absolutely haram, the Prophet (SAW) taught his sahaba to treat the slavegirls well and never abuse their rights. There are those who argue that since Islam permits Muslim men to have sexual intercourse with their slave girls, this then means that they also have the right to rape them.

This is absurd. The right to have sex with a woman does not necessarily imply that one has the right to rape her as well. To say that a Muslim man has the right to rape his slave girl is like saying that a man has the right to rape his wife; which is not true.

In our view the man who rapes a woman, regardless of whether she is a virgin or not, if she is a free woman he must pay a "dowry" like that of her peers, and if she is a slave he must pay whatever has been detracted from her value. The punishment is to be carried out on the rapist and there is no punishment for the woman who has been raped, whatever the case. (Imam Maalik, Al-Muwatta', Volume 2, page 734)
