Puntland has oil. If I remember correctly, it has more of it on their land than SL.

Economic benefit? This isn't first world country where you have to invest in poor regions. As a third world country, you want to make yourself more politically relevant. How do you do that? Get bigger of course. You don't want to be one of those islands in pacific region that nobody heard of.

Good point about qabiil vs qabiil mentality but I can't see why it can't be solved. If what I heard is true, Puntland's doesn't have that much problem with clans anyway.
