Back in the 50s and mid-60s, hiiraan was the leading political region of somalia, from SYL and the iririst SNC led by sheekh ali jimcaale wich has made the only two presidential candidates exclusive to this region

Unfortunately, since the 70s to this day, the region is behind the rest of regions

SYl was founded by halyeey abdullahi iise and beledweyne was its political capital

This party was dominated by three hiiraan mps: abdullahi iise, sh ali jimaale and adan adde

What your reffering to is called SYC wich was political club that had no political role in the country, it was more anti-colonial movement than a political party...SYL was the political party tht led the nation to the trusteeship and independence and both reer xamar and digil iyo mirifle were anti-SYL

SYC itself was led by a hardcore pro-arab and anti-italian group that were known as the SYC sheikhs such as sh sakhawadin(btw he was tunni not reer xamar!)from egypt and sh ali jimaale

This ideology didnt work as they suffered alot...hence the SYL was founded as a political party and a peaceful resistance by a mix of pro-arab and secular politicians such abdullahi ciise

After this he was given a seat in hiiraan by sh ali jimaale

Sh ali jimcaale was the SYLs first presidential candidate backed by cabdullahi ciise

This is the time when cigaal arrived xamar, if jimaale had won the elections he would have been a pm but the speaker(adan adde) who was belonging to another wing of SYL, backed by his in-laws and all the anti-irir blocs, has announced his candidacy and he wont it by one vote....

isn't this Warfaa guy the same 2012 presidential candidate who pulled out from the presidential race for a mere $10k? Xawadle collected lots money for him to run and he sold out for $10k courtesy of another candidate.

In 1943, the nephew of sh aways al baraawi, sakhawdiin has founded the SYC...he was from well respected sufi family and he thought could lead the somalis politically(the political awaysia) like his grandfather did religiously

the banadirs were leading and part of every tariqa

This organization had no political ideology except from somali nationalism while SYL was not even favouring an Immediate unity if it wasnt cigaal bc they had an argument that calls for to have a common educational system based on somali language before...

It has also rejected the british request to stay under the trusteeship in exchange of uniting

SYL was founded in 1947 by abdullahi ciise, by thid time banadirs and D&M were no longer part of it, it was mainly representing two clans in its central committee however one of them was in control like the trusteeship and the parliament

In waqooyi, there were two parts.....the Dblock of SYL (mj), had a relation with the USP bc in the case of unity they will get more votes and will be stronger in the post-independence era just like the Hblock dnd D&M

This is why SYL was reluctant about the pre-election union

cigaal has arrived xamar before the elections and he met cabdullahi ciise.......entered alliance with sh ali jimaale about forming a unitary govt (waqooyi-south power- sharing govt) and when they failed on this, they established an opposion party

There was a union referendum, the only southren region that has voted No was hiiraan....majority of waqooyi have voted No.

From under aden addde, SYL, was dominated by Dblock

Lol not true at all. Hes a prof and we he saw closly how the situation is he withdrew from it. The 10k was about the fees. He gave the rest of the money to an orphan foundation managed by ugaaska.

Him and prof abdi nur sh had never involved before in hiiraan politics but these days r with tolka maybe bc they have seen the reality kkk
