The Road to Hell: The Ravaging Effects of Foreign Aid and International Charity, by Michael Maren, is a book about good intentions gone awry, in the realm of charitable assistance to Africa. The author argues that the international aid industry is a big business more concerned with winning its next big government contract than helping needy people. The focus of the book is Somalia. Among the organizations criticized are World Vision, Save the Children, Christian Children's Fund, UNICEF, CARE, Catholic Relief Services, and USAID.[1] The book argues that relief aid helped bolster the regime of Siad Barre.[2] The book has been cited by some academics as evidence that violent competition for control over large-scale food aid contributed to the breakdown of government in Somalia.[3]

I didn't need to watch this to notice aid is destroying somalia I found out about it when I was watching the somali channel and their was a hawiye guy crying for white people to fix his road for him making roads is not a rocket science if anybody had brain cells they tell the general public sink or swim build your own country

The local people are not at fault here, they are being tricked and played by corrupt Organizations, and their corrupt incompetent so called dawlads, who care for nothing other than filling their own pockets.

If it was up to me I would kick out every single aid organization and shoot in the head any minister who advocates for them to stay in the country.

Aid is an easy target except when it's doing good. You have no government. No industry. How do you think lack of aid will affect Somalis with no means of assistance other than this aid?

All the X-ray equipment, incubators, MRI devices, free malaria medicines, patient registries, etc, none of that would be available if they weren't supplied.

It would force industry, but that takes time. Till then, focus on bringing these things here to replace the aid. We're dependant on welfare whether we're home or abroad lol

First and foremost Allah is our assistance. And the type of aid we are talking about is ones that is crippling our society.
It's UN food flooding the markets sidelining the Somali from planting his corps and earning a humane living for himself without assistance from anyone.

God has blessed us with resources beyond beliefs, we must stop believing we need UN handouts for survival.
