My girl Philosopher, so proud of you!

First time she's on large broadcast stations, she does articles for Vice and goes on radio segments as well. UofT grad, intelligent, sweet and beautiful to boot.

She sounds very nervous and can't speak even close to the others on the show. Most somalis have this lack of confidence issue when it comes speaking publicly.

Is she a member here?

She did seem nervous. It was a panel discussion not presenting a paper to academics. She seemed like she wanted to speak less and move on from her ASAP.

This girl is been treated unfairly. All the positive work she's been doing is overshadowed by a small white lie.

I mean seriously. It's not like she won the lottery by identifying with blacks.
Its not like she gained any advantages in life that would have been denied to her if people knew she was white.

I see her like a princes who left her castle (white skin) to do good and just got carried away with the tanning lotion.

God bless Rachel Dolezal

She is young and I believe this was her first time on national TV.

Give credit where it's due walaalayaal.

Gegi, she's a fresh grad, and I can't speak for her income!

Jalal, I'm over this Rachel convo that has everyone running around like their whole belief system was turned upside down. But my girl's getting out there. Good for her!

Why the hell does a Somali person in Canada care about the race relations in the United States that exist between Blacks and Whites?

Stay in your lane. This doesn't involve you and these people are not your people

Ok if she is not making a lot of money, she can have her CTV interviews then  I don't want to hear from her!

How about you? Are you making a lot of money? In other words, are you rich?

I'm on Facebook and Twitter and I'm seeing all these offended and butthurt Somalis who want to complain about Rachel Dolezal pretending to be a Black woman.

Why do we even care? In fact, this story is extremely amusing and that's all it is. The only reason why Somalis here are getting offended is because we are CHOOSING to be offended.

In reality, this incident does not involve us. It's an amusing little story and that's it.

Indeed we are. And I live in Canada. I even remember seeing a "Black Lives Matter" protest in Toronto last summer.....

As if the Police killing of black males is something that occurs in Canada, when in fact it doesn't. There is no Police-killing epidemic in this country at all, yet they still felt the need to protest it. I find it extremely strange that Somalis in Canada would protest the actions of Police Officers WHO LIVE IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY.

I mean, it's one thing to protest the killing of Michael Brown if you're actually living in the United States. It's something completely different when you have people in Canada and Britain protesting this Police killing.

Canadians in general have too much time on their hands. Wannabe Americans.

I agree, it's not our problem. Nor do we have the same experiences actually within our society.

But that wasn't my point. Dare I say, I've never seen a Somali on CTV who wasn't being interviewed as an opinion as part of a story. They asked her for her opinion, because it's an intelligent one.

Kaafiye, have you ever heard of Huda? She isn't one of your famed SJW, don't worry.
