Somali election 2016

Post by TheCadaanGuy »

You're now in Somalia just in time for 2016 election.

Who will you vote for? Some guy from your tribe? Female president? A guy who matches your views? Most charismatic person? Most educated man?

Anyone except Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. That's for sure.

I've never seen a more corrupt and divisive figure as this man. He's got to go

Hadii Ilaahey ii daayo nafta waxaan u codeyn doonaa qofka aan is dhahaayo waa kan ugu roon inta tartamayso, qabiilkuu doono ha ahaadee.

It is very unlikely, but I am hoping every one will remove their qabilistic lenses.

Is it even possible to run an election keeping all potential candidates' clans secret?

There won't be Elections, there could've been but we wasted so much time.

Every Degmo/District will elect it's MPs, so that means in most Somali regions, a district is dominated by 1 clan, so most likely you will elect a person from your clan lol.

In that case we could elect a brother (Who can be a potential MP) from our district without using that clannish lenses of ours.

Hmm, I think party system is better suited for this election (Some time in future if not 2016).

Perhaps have a rule that every party must have one MP in every district. MP's lineage must come from that district.

If a party wins, then MPs from that party must vote which one to become a president and prime minister. No involvement from the public in the voting.

Ok lets say we have a party system.

Somalis will turn it into every clan has a party competition. lool

Or lets say we limit parties to 2 or 3, so that people can't have their own clan party, every district will still elect an Mp from their clan for their region, I think this is the best option.

I beleive the 4.5 is one of best political systems in the world. Those who are against it are hypocrites or they have no enough knowledge about Somali politics. Why i like the 4.5 ?
1. Its inclusive and fair ,every one gets something reasonable.
2. The clans Have no acces to influence villa Somalia. Once they choose their MPs the game is between the MPs, and the public are just viewers. No mj can do a shit if culusaw kicks out cumar tonight. In somaliland the public are the actual decission makers. Thats why we (landers) are always involved politics which really effects our political stability, if one clan loose one seat they cause some trouble. I dont reccomend Somaliland style mult party democracy. The 4.5 is the best solution for somalia. I hope it helps

4.5 is unfair because Dir and D&M are not equal to Darod and Hawiye. If we follow the recent (flawed) estimate , MJ is larger than D&M, It is totally unfair.

I believe that one man one vote can happen in Somalia by the end of 2016 but only in stable areas. Some MPs will come by direct vote and some by clan agreement if Alshabab continues to hold their degmos. The technology of elections has become easier and easier with time, it will be relatively easy.
Culusow is already under tremendous international pressure, and will not be allowed to extend his term.

Which is stupid because MJ is are small and D&M are large. :stylin: :lupe: :whew:

Proper elections in Somali will only work is people separate Somali nationality from Somali ethnicity. Ethnic Somalis are Sab & Samale and minorties like midgaan etc. Nationality Somali's are anyone one in the nation of Somalia.

Thus as a country and not a ethnic territory, all wagosha/mushunguuli, barawani, ashraaf, bajuuni etc would need proper representation. They are Somali by nationality. They cannot go anywhere else, they speak a local language and are from towns in Somalia.

4.5 is unfair as it promotes ethic somali's and lowers anyone else. The wagoosha have large numbers and in a repulic or federal somali should have a say in the Shabelle's and the Jubba's where they live.

What if potential candidates must pay their $5000-$10000 to stand in for their own district. If they get less than 5% or 10% votes from their own district, they lose their deposit.

Example: a party full with people from one tribe. The rule is that they must have at least one candidate in every district. So, if they have all candidates from one clan in every district. Only their own clan will vote for them but then there are other parties with a candidate from same clan. Everywhere else, they will lose. If they're stupid, they deserve to lose $100,000.

@theyuusuf143

This 4.5 clan system is similar to the one we're talking about but this system is more unfair on minorities. The one we're discussing is more fair on everyone.
