The monthly pilgrimage. As soon as Siilaanyo finishes his few minutes talk with Hailemariam; We will see Gaas, Sakin, Madoobe, Gurgurte, Fatty, and any other "politician" flying out to Addis Ababa.

President Ahmed Silanyo went there to discuss the Berbera corridor, which is closer than ever to be signed. The port business could generate anything from $1.3 billion to $3 billion per year for Somaliland.
This is a strategic business and could change Somaliland for better.
Next month Somaliland will meet with the European Union, World Bank and other institutions in Nairobi to finally get the funds needed for the Berbera corridor (Berbera to Tog-Wajale).
We welcome Silanyo to his maternal ancestry land...as a son of Habesha mother.
Reintegrating Rahawein (The Maay-Borana reconciliation) - a recovery mission
The Regional President of Southernwest State (the respectful Rahawein nation) also has good reasons to be in Addis Ababa. As I have pointed out many times before, the Rahawein are half-cast of Somali nomads and the Oromo nation. It is the interest of Ethiopia and the Rahawein to see southernwest state to rekindle its relations with its Oromo family.
The Ethiopian state should take more role promoting Rahawein as another branch of the Borana and thus help connect Oromia region with Southwestern State. I don't believe that Sharif Hassan is the right man to lead southernwest State. He is not visionary enough. He doesn't inspire the locals. He is too close to Mogadishu group and is rather to weak. He backs the three-region solution and we should back a man that supports bigger Rahawein state, which means more influence for Ethiopia. The Rahawein share very little in common with the average Somali in southern Somalia, no more so than they share with Borana in Ethiopia. As far as I am concerned Rahawein should be treated just like another Bale/Borana region...an Ethiopian community embedded in Somalia. They are strategic ally.
Historically speaking, the Maay people were Oromo natives who were captured, converted and assimilated by Islamist Somalis during the Ajuraan-Gaalla wars. Some even pre-date that era but the bulk of them were ran over during these times. Their elders and fathers were killed off by the invading Jihadist Ajuraan while women and children were adopted and thus raised as Muslims. Since Oromo and Somalis had historical ties that pre-date the Islamification of the Horn, these captured people were not treated as harsh as the Bantu groups or other ethnics. In most parts they were allowed to keep their identities and even dialects.
Same way many Oromo groups (such as Jarso, Akisho, Gurgura) reject the Dir identity, many Rahawein will reject Somali identity once they learn about their real history and the truth comes out.
The Ethiopian army must be kept in Baidao at all times.
This is what I support. Ethiopian policy makers should take notes.

Way forward:
The southwestern State of the Rahawein nation should be economically integrated with the Oromia State at a region-to-region level. We should start by investing in the development of Baidao airport and helping the regional Government there finance a Presidential State House. These things will go long way to inspiring the Rahawein to have self-believe and even in the future pursue an independent state of their own.
In the south, they should always be Ethiopia's first priority. Getting them sea access, which in tern benefit Oromia Region and southern Ethiopia, should be the long term goal thus it's important to back their six-region State and not Kenya's Jubbaland buffer zone, a likely safe heaven for ONLF.

What I foretold became the truth. All the regional states in Somalia is controlled by Ethiopia. Created by the permission and supervision of Ethiopia. I pity the folks in here that actually think their tribal-enclave is free.
