Naag nool iska dhig!

Post by MissFiora »

Growing up my mother stressed the importance of maintaining yourself and the house you live in. She would mix huruud and qasil for a face mask, and whip up eggs and olive oil for a hair mask, then she would go about doing her chores. You would never catch her in dirac shiid daloola. She was always put together, Masha’Allah.

Where I’m I going with this you ask? Based on recent observations most married young women noolasha bey ka dhaceen. I have seen homes in despicable states, children sporting dried snot outlining the number 11 on their faces. Women in what can only be described as rags with unkempt hair. The idea of home-coooked meals escape them.

Most the young married women I know were pining for marriage since I could remember, some even abandoned their studies in order to get married. Some are stay at home mothers who have husbands who can provide for em. Others work. Life can get hectic, I understand, but there is no excuse to live like a Neanderthal!

Is naagnimo dead? If so, we need to revive it! It is important for a woman to maintain herself, children and household. No excuses!

Masha allah may Allah bless your mother. Keep in mind fast majority of Somali ladies/mothers would a give your mom a run for her money!
that being said, there certainly are a countless Somali girls/ladies who fit into the role of " Basarinimo" quite well.
And for politically correct reasons, lets swap the term " Naaganimo" for Gaarrinimo, before the ree xamar folks/girls take offence to the term ahahha.
Hiya there Miss B, It's been a while :) ...Who the heck is this you might say ahaha but keep in mind we have had some interesting encounters! I wonder if I should mention my old moniker in Snet chat room and more importantly, would it ring a bell! I doubt it

The term PC isnt even in Somali dictionary lol...So, I would say its the opposite. It's the lack of PC which got us in a sticky situation.
And there is hardly anything wrong with the term nagaananmo, in fact being described as a "Naag Adag" is the ultimate compliment a xalimo can receive. It's just that Re Konfur girls find the word Naag in its variant forms a bit demeaning and offensive apparently! Dhaw jeer baa cuna qabatayntii Sacuudiga la igu soo rogi gaadhay for using that word ahahah!

I suppose I am that Agent coz I doubt anyone else used it on there. But my usual nick was Diplomat, ring a bell?....We have had fairly frank and endearing conversations about life and potential partners in life :-O Thats about the only thing I can remember which might help. But I do have one specific thing in mind which might pique your curiosity..Will Pm you but keep talking

Huuno I understand that people are different etc. But lets not make excuses for lazy individuals. Stay at home moms have no excuse waayo guriga bad joogta the entire day wax kaa qabo. Kuwa shaqo taagana they can organize themselves on the weekend they can prep meals in advance, do some deep cleaning on the weekend and maintain it during the week etc. No excuses, karti wax loo dhasho ma'ahaan it's something that can be instilled in you. If you grew up in guri kala daadsan chances are your house will be the same.

Saxiib during the dating stage u fiirso is she organized, daanteeda mey raacata mise waa impulsive. Say you call her up late on a Sunday night ask her to come out and she automatically accepts even though she has work the next day etc.

Ask about her upbringing ..did her mother, cook and clean did she tend to her children. Or did the kids raise themselves. If I was a dude I would also avoid girls who had to take care of their younger siblings growing up, they didn't have a childhood when they establish their own home they are tired all they wanna do is chill and have fun.

Funny you say that because the last girl I was checking was almost always with her younger siblings and taking care of them. I thought it was cute because my theory was "if she can take care of her moms house, then why not mine?" :snoop:

You got me re-evaluating what I find cute and good for a girl seriously.

Thank you abayo
