There was some theory after the death of zenawi that then acting pm hailemariam was merely a figurehead to prevent possible conflict among zenawis tigranyan disciples
What is new is HMD loosening their grip on him by making senior officials that hail from his ethnic backgroud, perhapes a new secret party withing the ruling tigranyan party
Theres a new alliance between him and the ethiopian president who hails from oromo
The aim of HMD is to establish a new ethiopian southren protestant welayata dynasty thats backed by the protestant and pagan oromos
This move has angered a lot the tigranyan elites
The US and other westren countries have intervened so far but the cricis is still on
political infghting within the ethiopian ruling party

Re: political infghting within the ethiopian ruling party
Sahal doesn't know what is happening in Beledweyne especially dhanka bari magaaladda, do you honestly think he knows a thing about the inner circles of EPRDF?
This nigga is funny and he always like 'sources'.
Neither PM HMD nor symbolic Mulatu Teshome have any powers. They can't even choose their own house let alone 'form a party'. They do not have any support from Woleita nor Oromo.
Ato Teshome is not Protestant he is a member of Tewahedo Church (Orthodox). He is a member of OPDO (Oromo party) within the EPRDF.
The Prime Minister is Pentecostals or Pentay (Evangelicals).
Likewise he already belongs to southern party, SEPDM, which is an official member of EPRDF like TPLF, OPDO (Oromo), the ANDM (Amhara). Those four parties form the EPRDF coalition.
I doubt the TPLF central committee will ever name Adhanom as PM. I believe D. Gebremichael has more chance due to inner rivalry within the Tigrais. Adhanom not only has Eritrean background but originally hails from Enderta. The top TPLF leadership are very tight bunch dominated by Adwa, Axum and Shire. Since D. Gebremichael hails from Shire, he has more chance than the Enderta/Asmara Adhanom. Of course Adhanom is stunt supporter of Meles' vision like Sebhat Nega.
I doubt they will even name a Tigrai in order to remain united. They could have another fallout like Meles and Ato Gebru Asrat..Seyoum Mesfin and Azeb, Bereket Vs Abay Woldu Vs Sebhat.
From past experience they buried their opposition including Asrat and even their own Seyoum (from Adigrat/Agame), hence they exiled him by naming him "ambassador to China". It is the same thing as Siad Barre did to Farah Aideed when he exiled him to India. This is an old trick. Sebhat is the most spiritual leader of the group and he would never back Adhanom for PM.
For me the surprise rise to power and man to watch for is Ato D. Gebremichael, who brings new flavour into the mix unlike the old establishment and those below them. He is a liked individual with clean and nice image. Of course he will need the backing of Simon Bereket and Sebhat-----and most likely by now Azeb is comfortable with him. Shire is always respected amongst all Tigregus.
They will find another minority same way Isaacs try to throw the power at someone else in order to keep the habro united like during Riyale days.

Re: political infghting within the ethiopian ruling party
The current FM will be picked as PM the west also wants tigrays to rule both eritrea and ethiopa. Eritrea 65% muslim ethiopa 40% muslim both countries ruled by minority tigrays.
@comparing ethiopa to triangle state udub party was HY-faqash party
