Galgale have been claiming to be Majerteen since the colonial era. There is a subclan (Nuh Mohamud Saleeban) in Puntland that Galgale claim to be descendants of.sahal80 wrote:its not useful to post old wounds but if you want to know this from the westren sources just google galgale clanBlueBlood wrote:when did galgala and abgaal fight?
In short they r small minority groop who r similar to gabooye in the north but had close relationship with abgaal except in the marriage....in the 80s, when the country was entering its tribalism phase, they have been approached by some clan, then they got recruited and used in the counterinsurgency campaign against abgaal when manafesto/USC appeared as NSS and militia
those who escaped were finally adopted by that clan In some camp in kenya
Kulahaa he still has his abgaal dialect, as if a regional dialect changes because of someone's clan. They live with abgaal, why would they not sound like abgaals?sahal80 wrote:the right direction.
met a galgala guy who still has his abgaal dialect
In dhadhaab camp they met other folks and joined them
Where is Osob? Can you respond to this? Mise all you see is hg?thegoodshepherd wrote:Warsheekhow ma waxad sacbinaysa marka Sagalka Abgaal Gaalgale dhameeyeen??
Saaxib koofi madax la saaray does not change change the fact that Abgaal committed full-on genocide on Gaalgale.
The stories I heard are literally the worst shit imaginable.
First of all its over exaggerated what happened and you are conveniently forget that when MSB had the upper hand at the begining of the War Galgala magically became Nuux Maxmoud of Majerteen and started their bullshitthegoodshepherd wrote:Warsheekhow ma waxad sacbinaysa marka Sagalka Abgaal Gaalgale dhameeyeen??

I have personally met one of them and he said to me they have been victim of the old regime........abgal were their patron clan and imam omar the then imam of mudulood had made attempts to elevate their status by allowing inter-marriage between them and abgaal and considering them as one of his "raciya" however, his attempts did not come to fruiton.....this is what sh sharif was referring to....Buraanbur wrote:Galgale have been claiming to be Majerteen since the colonial era. How does it make sense that Galgale were "approached by some clan" during the 80s and used in a "counterinsurgency campaign" () against abgaal, but were adopted by this said clan during the 90s in a Kenyan refugee camp? So they had to kill people to prove their loyalty before being accepted as fully Majerteen?
Do you ever stop and read over what you write before pressing submit?
Btw, the Galgale are not like the Gabooye. They were not shunned and were known to intermarry with their neighbors. Even in the video, Sh. Sharif states their links to the royal family of the Abgaal.

That's funny considering that Imam Omar's brother is Galgale.sahal80 wrote: I have personally met one of them and he said to me they have been victim of the old regime........abgal were their patron clan and imam omar the then imam of mudulood had made attempts to elevate their status by allowing inter-marriage between them and abgaal and considering them as one of his "raciya" however, his attempts did not come to fruiton.....this is what sh sharif was referring to....
I dont know who claimed who first.....galgale r to native to shabelle region and they r victim of the somali harsh culture....there was mj community in jowhar so maybe...But thats not the problem....as a policy this has begun in 82 when/after SNM was formed.....a group of Dblock poets who were pro-kacaan have released a conterversial poem named ergo darod....they called for to bring back mj to stop irir.....this has shocked other pro- kacaan poets such as mustafe ismael who composed a warning poem against it but looks like they were backed by the regime itself and was part of recruiting new clans such as galgalo......

(1955:160) stated that “the Ad Saleh, inhabiting the islands of Abbaguba and Baca in the bay of Hawakil, are recent Somali Mijertein immigrants (about a hundred years). They were formerly bound to the Mijertein of Somaliland but have severed that connection and allied themselves with Damoheita of Buri.”
