Re: A question for nomadic people: where do you find the fastest Camels in the Horn of Africa?
]Buurtayadaa Buuraha u dheer,
Awrtayada Ratiga u wacan...
is the kind of argument this thread might generate.
Since camel are rarely kept in certain environment through one year(Guban, Hawd, Oogo etc) geographical terrain will have minimal effect in the evolutionary development of camels in somalia. Thus it will be safe to assume Somali camels are somewhat similar since they switch grazing lands during different seasons.
The Same she-camel that was in Togdheer yesterday might be grazing somewhere in Somali region of Ethiopia next month..
on a far far far shot you might notice a subtle difference between camels in Wajeer and those in Saylac, and the biggest factor will be difference in pasture (quality and quantity). But even so, you have to remember in order for revolutionary traits to develop it will happen through generations and that might be rendered impossible because of the fluidity of Somali livestock...Geelii barigii laga soo dhacay xagaa iyo Goday which was originally from wajeer but now in Shiniile etc...
Hadii aan iska hadla uun ... Oogo camel might be faster than Guban camel...Higher altitude will generate more Red blood cells, and RBCs will carry more oxygen....I don't know camel physiology though....I am not a vet

Question for Nomadic people? the title is all wrong
I found funny that People here in Snet who are all born in overseas or city and grow up eating MacDonalds 7 times a day are all claiming or caling them selfs Nomadic, even their fathers never been a nomad. They thinking its something cool to be xoolo dhaqato, The Poor guy that eat zero or one meal a day and walk days sometimes weeks in the hot sun above his head just to find a water and grazing area.
i guarantee you non of them will last half a day to walk miles in hot sunny heat in their contort Western countries without water let alone be a xoolo dhaqato yet here MacDonald eaters are all claiming to be Xoolo dhaqato.

I dont know to be honest but in somalia I think waamo camel are bigger, its owned by gaaljecel, cawramale and ogadeen....
Gaaljecel own more camel than the rest of somalis and they r always on the move
Except one jufo who lives with gaaljecel and who are our adeerada, our hawadle camel stays on the eastren tropical hills

http://t.co/EewZoOpKGZ
The hills r the camels natural habitat.....semites have imported it from sinai- the red sea, beja country)
Gaaljecel and cawramale had no hills so they moved to the savanna
