Superheroes make children's day: Muslim organisation marks Eid with visit to hospitals

Swooping in with gifts at St Oswald's Hospice, Newcastle U.K
To celebrate the Muslim holy day of Eid, which marks the end of the month of Ramadan, the North East's Islamic Diversity Centre took presents to local children at St Oswald's Hospice in Newcastle, Sunderland Royal Hospital and James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

Project Manager Abu Tayeb said the North East's Muslims must share the joy of this happy occasion with children affected by illness and their families.

This is the third year the Islamic Diversity Centre has made the visits
These kids are going through an extremely tough time. We want to bring a smile to their faces, and show their parents that we care. Eid is a day of celebration, and we want these kids to share in the happiness, whatever background they come from.

– ABU TAYEP, ISLAMIC DIVERSITY CENTRE (ITV)
