That government (TFG) was the worst we had ever seen, worse than Barre regime's last years. The new administration should have listened to the people complaining of rape, getting run over intentionally, indiscriminate shellings, murders, missing people etc and asked for an army from a Muslim country to hold things down while the SNA trained...they decided to close their senses to it and Shabaab just grew and grew from a few hundred to many thousands. Very sad, but that's the darker side of al Shabaab, not the majority. They have lone wolves, secret cells and ambitious foreign members with ulterior motives who work parallel to them. There are also Al Shabaab who are loyal to Al Qaeda and Shabaab who are more concerned with internal affairs. The Al Qaeda contingent are the ones who bomb civilians and still have a hang up over the courts being overthrown. Some members of ISIS are in Somalia too, making things even more complicated. Shabaab claimed that the hotel which was bombed turned down Somalis who wanted to work for them, choosing to hire gaalo instead and that it was a diplomatic chill out zone for the gaalo while being hostile and suspicious of locals. Very sad that they overlooked the power of a bomb. Ilaahey ha u naxariisto the people who died as a result of their evil bomb and insha Allah those who were injured, may Allah give them their health back.
