BEST REGIONAL UNIVERSITY AWARD

Europe Business Assembly (EBA) has recognized SIMAD UNIVERSITY with the “Best Regional Universities” award. Awards were given in four categories; SIMAD received an award in the Science and Education category.
Dahir Hassan Arab, the rector of SIMAD UNIVERSITY, received the award on July, 2015, on behalf of the university.
The decision to grant the award was made by the Socrates Committee. This implies that the award cannot be applied for, and the committee does not accept recommendations for the award. Therefore, Mr. Dahir had no information about how the committee had learned about SIMAD UNIVERSITY. However, after the Oxford event, the International Relations Manager of EBA sent an email and had told Mr. Dahir that in particular the award was granted to SIMAD UNIVERSITY for leading positions in medical sphere.
Universities from around the world were awarded, however, the majority of them were Commonwealth nations. No other Somali universities or institutes of higher education received an award. See it here the list of the award recipients.
SIMAD UNIVERSITY may use the recognition granted in its marketing for the next five years.
